catlover got a reaction from Marc Stinkvark in AffDesign 2.2. Mac : Delete (node) via backspace no longer working ?
iMac
OS Big Sur 11.7.10
HW acceleration :see screenshot.
Not sure of this is by design or bug, but here is what I came across when editing nodes:
I Used to press the backspace key (no modifier key needed) to delete selections (nodes & other).
Since the delete node via the RH mouse click is now introduced in v.2.2., this no longer works.
The default "Delete" shortcut key in the Preferences panel is now empty.
Creating a new shortcut key "backspace" (backspace only) does not work, it needs a modifier key (fn).
I've tried other modifier keys, but that also doesn't work.

catlover got a reaction from lepr in Aff.Des.2.1.1. Mac: Bending lines, pointy connecting end
Thank you very much.
I had it cranked up to 7, but that didn't make any difference.
Now I increased it to 9, and that finally did the trick.

catlover got a reaction from BiffBrown in AffDes & Af Photo:Deckled edge frame
I've added a deckled edge frame for use in Photo.
It is a Vector frame, created in Designer, Size = 8x10" 5:4 (203x254mm / 1200x1500px).
Copy the file to your picture in Photo and edit / resize to suit.
Feel free to improve.

catlover got a reaction from walt.farrell in What happened to regular updates ?
Thanks Walt.
I thought I might have missed some since I haven't been active on the forum for a while now.
Still, it's been pretty quiet compared to when we were practically "swamped" in days of old with -albeit small- updates eh ?
Best,
C.L.

catlover got a reaction from AHAM in Joining nodes - will it ever be working properly?
I've been having the exact same problem and so have -I think- a lot of other users.
Joining nodes is a nightmare. Indeed sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I found that usually it works on the first nodes you try to join, but all the next times within the same object don't.
This issue has been around since the beginning, high time someone at the devs looks into it seriously.

catlover got a reaction from FREDERIK DIAMOND in Vector brushes for fashion designer?
Here are some "vector" brushes, zippers, stitches.
I downloaded them a long time ago from the "Resources" section of the forum, but I cannot find them anymore so I can't send you a link.
They are NOT pure vector as GarryP already mentioned.
Please post a "Thank you" to the now anonymous maker of these brushes.
WARNING: I searched for "Fashion" in the Resources section and ended up at a Post that had Fashion brushes available.
There were a lot of replies that mentioned a faulty or no link.
Do NOT click the link that is available. You'll get a warning (Safari) that the link is no longer valid and is unsafe to visit.

@walt.farrell
Thanks for mentioning this, Walt. It totally escaped my attention.
I certainly wouldn't want to infringe on someone elses work without express permission.
@Lisbon Thanks for the link.

catlover got a reaction from Pšenda in AffPhoto 1.9.1.(Mac) :Locked pixel layer editable
It was not meant as an opinion. It should be a standard feature : lock or unlock, very basic.
-
catlover got a reaction from Rudolphus in Photo & Designer-All versions: Locked layer must be in-editable
After all these years : still not fixed !!!
A "locked" layer should be locked.
As in : NOT editable
As in NOT.
Anything else means it is not locked.
Please Fix.

OK, They're back ! Sorry, I never got around to creating a Pixel-based ruler.
Moreover, I think it would be best to Post a Feature Request in the appropriate Forum section.

catlover got a reaction from Palatino in Updating via Mac App store fails
The trick with killing the appstoreagent does work, but you have to FORCE-kill it while the update process is running.
Go to Applications > Utilities > Activity monitor > start activity monitor.
Go to the app store > log in.
Click the update button for the application you want to update.
In case of more than 1 update, click "update All".
Update icon starts spinning.
Go back to Activity monitor
Find the appstoreagent process
Force-kill the appstoreagent process.When it's gone,
Go back to the Appstore
Click the update button again (it's still spinning, but click it anyway).
This is a workaround solution, NOT a permanent fix.
When updating again, you'll have to shutdown the computer, start again and do the whole process again.

catlover got a reaction from affinityfan in AFD-Beta 1.9.0.21 Contour tool -replaces original ??
Seems I need new glasses. Either that, or a new brain..
Sorry 'bout that.
Still, those buttons and their function wouldn't go amiss, and indeed, the ALT pressdown doesn't work as advertised.

catlover got a reaction from Gear maker in Question about node handles ...
I don't want to put my foot in this discussion -I'm not a professional.
But in a former life I had to use Corel Draw professionally.
I always preferred it to other drawing software - and I was given the opportunity to test just about all of them,
from AutoCad (which I also used professionally) to Illustrator and everything in between.
That said, each and every one of them had plus and minus points. And usually on the "ease of use" side.
Now that I'm retired I cannot afford a program for which I have to cough up +600 Euros or pay a hefty subscription/ransom fee.
So be it...
Which gets me to Affinity products. Which I can afford.
IMO those folks are extremely customer-friendly. Rare is the occasion when
I posted a question and did not receive an answer.
Sure, there are times when valid suggestions are not followed up on.
I put that down to having a small developer team.
And, let's be honest, any UX designed by an " educated UX designer " will also be the product of his/her prefered way of doing things.
**************************
As for tweaking curves : I'm sure you all know of this feature, if not, give it a try : when tweaking a node put the cursor directly anywhere
on the curve and pause it there. A tiny little crossline will appear across the curve. You can now pull the curve any which way you want to tweak it.
There : I've said my piece.
Stay safe , keep healthy
