The ORF OM-1 Olympus RAW files can not be opened with Affinity Photo (1.10.5). Other Software like Dxo Photolab 5, Luminar 4 etc. opens them without problems.

["Fill mode" for creating shapes is missing]

In AFFINITY PHOTO the function "Fill Mode" (alternating <> winding) is missing. Nevertheless it is descriped in the "Help". See screenshot.

In AFFINITY PUBLISHER the "Fill Mode" is available!

[Shapes lose fill and stroke]

When I change a shape, for example a speech bubble, into a textform, it´s losing fill and stroke.

When I create a speech bubble in PUBLISHER, it´s keeping fill and stroke after this change. Copying this element into the clipboard and inserting it into AFFINITY PHOTO it remains there fully editable.

Wouldn´t it make sense to have the same behaviour of shapes in PHOTO, DESIGNER and PUBLISHER?

Meanwhile I found another solution. The "old" DNGs are in "Camera Raw 5.4". When I transfer them into "Camera Raw 7.1" I can open them with Affinity Photo 1.8, too.

Some years ago I transfered my .NEF-Files into DNG in order to safe disk space. Now I tried to develop the DNGs with Affinity Photo. But instead of colours they only show a pink tint. Opening the same DNG-files with other software is working perfectly. Is there a bug in Affinity Photo?

To be frank - I don´t like video tutorials. They waste my precious life time. And they are a waste of (electric) energy.

Why? Because they don´t offer immediately what I´m looking for. Watching a video tutorial im forced to watch guys on the screen that are talking, talking, talking … but not about the items im interested in an which I need to get along with my work.

There should be at least a downloadable PDF with a detailed table of contents. In order to use software I need instructions and I need this information in direct access - and without electricity consuming internet connection.

#2  "Open recent …" does not work

#3  Vector Persona and Photo Persona can not be started, even the latest versions are installed.

After working with Affinity Designer for many months now I give up. Compared to Illustrator there are so many restrictions and "does-not-work"s that I can´t bear this software any longer. I also bought and worked the book. Perhaps it will take 5 or 10 years more to make Affinity Designer to a creative tool.

 

I don´t like the thought to subscribe CC - but there is no other way for me.

Now I tried to download the ressource files. But I get only error messages.
