  1. I miss the option to export to a native Affinity file in the export persona. I'm aware that I can just save the file as .afphoto or .afdesign, but sometimes my workflow consists of exporting a folder with several files (i.e. svg, jpg in different sizes) in order to make a 'package' of all the output and sources of a project. Having the a copy of the source-file in this package too would be a time-saver, because at this moment I need to move the source file into the package by hand. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
  2. It would be a welcome addition if we could make a swatch based on another swatch, not unlike Sass (https://robots.thoughtbot.com/controlling-color-with-sass-color-functions). In interfaces for example, I could create a green button with a darker green border. The darker green would be based on the original green and have the same hue and saturation, but the lightness would differ. That way, if I later change my mind and want to make all green buttons blue, the dark border would shift along. I'm looking forward to your thoughts!
  3. Hi, Using the artboard tool, you can insert or draw artboards. That way, your canvas is infinite. Best, Bauke
  4. Selecting folders and subfolders would be a very welcome addition indeed.
  5. Would any of the developers feel like giving his/her thoughts on the subject?
  6. Can you check if the artboard itself is positioned at full pixels within the canvas? If not, I'm pretty sure that's the source of your issue. I had the same issue and as I explained in this topic I think the position of the artboard shouldn't have consequences for the exports. Unfortunately, they didn't feel like discussing it.
  7. I noticed that the very useful expressions for sizing and positioning content using the Transform panel only work for pages and not for artboards. Can variables like artboardwidth, artboardheight etc. be added as well? Thanks in advance!
  8. As far as I know, this is already possible in Designer. But like all objects in Designer, the artboard you want to duplicate has to be active/selected first. You can do this by clicking on its title.
  9. I like that idea! And document-persistent nudge settings instead of application-persistent settings would be a great addition too.
  10. I agree that the addition of search would be most welcome.
  11. Hi Johio, As far as I know, that would result in zooming in. Bauke
  12. The annoying error sound still occurs when zooming out using space + command + option on MacOS Sierra.
  13. Thanks for the new candidate! One bug that still persists: the error sound when pressing space + command (for zooming in) is fixed, but space + command + option (for zooming out) still triggers the error sounds on my computer.
  14. Hello, I think it would be convenient if the nudge distance could be saved as a document setting, because I often set the size of a grid space as my nudge distance, which of course, differs between different documents. For the same reason, I believe it could be beneficial to make screen tolerance a document setting instead of an application-wide setting. What do you think? Best, Bauke
  15. Thanks for the new beta! The equations looks promising. I encountered a bug in the Apply Image screen. When I choose CMYK, and then try to add something in the last channel (DA), the application crashes instantly.
  16. Hi csj, I didn't try to replicate your situation, but I think you can use the second axis of the grid as a baseline (accessible via the Grid and Axis Manager). Here's a Affinity Designer tutorial on the setting up grids for icon design, but you can use it for typography too: Let me know if that helps! Best, Bauke
  17. Hi Fedorov, I asked a similar question in this topic: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/22706-reverse-constraints/ and I'm still hoping one of the developers will give his opinion on this concept because I agree it would be very useful! Best, Bauke
  18. Hi G.M.1986 MattP affirmed that they're working on a prototyping functionality in Designer here: https://forum.affinity.serif.com/index.php?/topic/25175-craft-by-invision-app/?p=119398
  19. Hello Initially I expected the input fields for the width and height in the New Batch Job window were for specifying the maximal width and height an image could be (not unlike Photoshop's Image Processor). With that thought, I added a few images with portrait and landscape orientation in the batch and specified 1024 in both the width and height fields. I expected that the landscape images wouldn't exceed a width of 1024 px and the portrait ones wouldn't exceed an height of 1024, all while retaining their original aspect ratio. I just found out it doesn't work like that, and the image will be forced in the specified sizes by stretching their original ratios (a square in my case). Is this by design? I can't think of many uses for this and in that case, I hope you can add a maximum-option to the New Batch Job window in order to add the functionality I described above. I'm looking forwards to hearing your thoughts! Bauke
  20. Hello, Are you planning on adding functionality for the new OpenType variable font technology in Designer, Photo and Publisher? Best, Bauke
  21. Thinking of all the possible use cases and exceptions on that (like Alfreds example) I think this is best done with a flexible find-and-replace functionality that allows regular expressions and saving of queries. Not unlike InDesigns functionality, but maybe with the improvement of combining multiple queries into a macro.
