  1. Hi Brian, I've just tested this on a few windows 10 / 1.10.5 installations of each with and without acceleration and cannot replicate the issue, it may be worth a reinstall of the software or resetting your applications settings (ctrl whilst booting the software, after backing up your personal files). Lee
  2. Hi Joe, I've replied to you via your email to our support team, but i'll answer here for visibility too, essentially Canon's Raw files contain patented adjustments above standard raw definitions that cannot be read by any other software, meaning you'll have to make manual adjustments as @Old Brucedescribed above. Lee
  3. Could you record the whole application, it's not clear what else is going on without the context. Lee
  4. Hi stepfull, welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear you having issues with stability and thanks for the logs. Whilst we investigate things, could you try changing your renderer to "warp" as below and try running it without admin privileges to see if this improves things? Also would it be possible to send us the log.txt from C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Affinity\Photo\1.0\ Lee
  5. Hi artofmtl, Your layer stack should look something like this: The brushes are black, so here i used an invert adjustment layer as a child of the pixel layer and used a recolour adjustment layer also as a child. For the gradient i added an FX layer gradient on the original pixel layer. Hope this helps. Lee
  6. Hi Paulm, Do you think you could record this behaviour full screen using QuickTime? Lee
  7. I should have said, but your image is a transparent one itself, (personally i'd recreate these simple shapes with vectors) but if you really want to keep them, just draw a shape on the left hand side to cover make it opaque. I'd also suggest when working in a vector design program when you wish to have transparency for your output, to lay an image or something in the bottom layer to toggle on/off so you know what's transparent and not.
  8. If you want an outline, you should use the outline option as opposed to a shadow. The shadow generates a lower resolution shadow that's designed to be blurred. Lee
  9. This is likely a font issue, some fonts appear to have issues when incorporated in PDF's (not just from Affinity Software), looking into it some people have had success with downloading a different format of font (ie removing the OTF and replacing it with a TTF if available). Lee
  10. Hi ONiel, I think this small tutorial on how to use our dedicated Transparency Tool will give you all the info you need, I think you'll find it a pretty powerful feature. Lee
  11. I can see fairly clearly here that those aren't empty pixels, just very low opacity. when you stack more and more layers of partially transparent pixels over each other they become more opaque. I think this is what you are noticing. Lee
  12. I'm not seeing this either, if you sample the "empty" space using the colour picker are you seeing any colour information? feel free to send the file using this link if you want me to take a look: https://www.dropbox.com/request/QPW6kHoSNwktXVCJxBmH Lee
  13. Feel free to upload the document here: https://www.dropbox.com/request/fWkKpuMIRilA3ExNEyWi so I can take a look. Lee
  14. Hi Joe, welcome to the forum! I think the best way to figure out if you think our software suits you is to give the free trial a go, we've got two pieces of software that could do what you need, if you are thinking of creating images that contain photos etc, maybe our Photo software would suit. https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/photo/ (The trial is at the bottom of the page.) If you are thinking of making your own designs with shapes etc. then perhaps Designer would suit more. https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/designer/ Why not try both and maybe explore the tutorial videos we have on our software located here: https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/learn/ Hopefully you'll find something you like and ourselves and our great community here can assist you if you have any questions. Lee
  15. Whilst we understand your frustration, it's simply not possible to grant a second license, we cannot even verify the purchase of a first. In Apple's own words: The Affinity store app and the Apple Store app are essentially different products completely, buying one does not entitle you to the other. Please refer to this post for more information. Lee
  16. You can get pretty close with adjustments in raw (1st image) but as the edges are soft, you will never get them right, so then once developed you would have use the inpainting tool set to "current layer and below" on a new pixel layer and remove the edges non-destructively. As you'll see (2nd image) there's still some desaturation on some red tiles as there's not a huge amount of colour information there so you'd have to recolour that area somewhat, even then you'd still need to patch it up a little bit as the manipulation is still pretty visible. Lee
  17. If you purchase via the App Store, you will have to reinstall through the App Store, there is no DMG. All the licensing is handled from within the app on this version. Lee
  18. Hi davedev, You can't unpack multilayer documents that are embedded as they have their own layer structure. The only way to do this is to double click to open the embedded document and copy/paste it. Lee
  19. Hi Bryan, Try disabling this option in Preferences > Auto-Correct. This should give you a behaviour more akin to the one you are expecting. Lee
  20. It's not actually clear what you wish to achieve, could you give some screenshots with notation or a video recording of what you are attempting to do? Lee
  21. Hi ndev, welcome to the forums. You can do this in publisher by going to Document > Add Pages from file. @John Rostron Lee
  22. You could use third party/online software to convert and import but as it's just a few headings, just recreate them, in all honesty anything else would take far longer. Lee
  23. On the left toolbar, theres's likely a "flame" icon (burn), click and hold this and look for the dodge tool, or use the keyboard shortcut "O".
  24. Please take a look at these. As previously stated this isn't just an Affinity issue, but a general performance with OpenCL on AMD cards beyond the 5000 series across the board. Instead of Accelerating our software it slowed it down, which is why we disable it. Lee
