  1. @chasmmay I suggest turning on closed captions (the CC icon on the bottom of the video), she describes each tool as she goes, so any you aren't sure of, just pause the video and use the help file in our software to locate the things she's asking you to click. I've copied and pasted the dialogue from the closed captions below for you to read to help you with this. "to get started looking at master pages I'm going to come to our master pages panel and double-click on this master page. this master page has been applied to all of these pages by default anything that I put on this master page will automatically appear throughout our entire document let me show you how this works I'm going to select this rectangle tool and then click and drag a rectangle to see this rectangle a little bit better I'm going to select its fill a color and change its color to a bright color that we can see we've applied this rectangle to the left-hand side of our master page because of this as we scroll through our document we can see that every left-hand page has this rectangle applied to it anything I do to update this rectangle on the master page will automatically be updated in our main pages if I change this color here you can see it automatically update on all of our pages this is a great way to have control over your documents and automatically update something throughout an entire document with the rectangle tool I'll click and drag another rectangle over here and you can see that we now have this long skinny rectangle on all of our right-hand pages"
  2. @Old Bruce Just before I disappear down a rabbit hole looking into this weirdness, could you double check it was the recovery one that crashed? Lee
  3. How very strange! @themushroompress My "code wizardry" in this case consisted of me opening the file and saving it. 🙌 Thanks for the info @Old Bruce I'll take a look. Lee
  4. Hi BenDE, Unfortunately not at the moment but any change of zoom level will show the preview size for a moment, or of course making a brush size adjustment. Lee
  5. Hi josie, There are loads like this if you search around for a carnival or circus font you'll see plenty that might meet your needs. Lee
  6. Hi HarryMcGovern, On the layers studio panel, click the 3 dots and then click Solo. Lee
  7. Hi gfhsrthj64udtkgjdj, welcome to the forums, Live Projection is accessed via the layers dropdown menu, and as such is only a preview for the selected layer. Remember it's just a preview, its used to check to see if the image you are creating is suitable for equirectangular projection, it's not a process itself. If you wish to flatten, and leave areas outside of the projection editable, I'd suggest a taller image than you need and using a non destructive crop, then rasterise and trim your layer before you preview your projection, and undo the rasterisation to retrieve the editable area. 8. Hi SenorYME, welcome to the forums, We use both LIBRAW and Apple core image RAW (default) on iOS, Apple core image RAW doesn't yet have compatibility with the A7iv, but LIBRAW does have it supported, but only recently. These will be pushed to our software once we release an update, you should be able to open the file though just without lens information etc, make sure your firmware, software and OS are both up to date). I've currently got an a7iv image open on an iPad running the latest OS, and version of Affinity Photo. Lee
  9. I think this is going to be by far the easiest way to show you, a channel on youtube called Affinity Revolution explain the whole concept very clearly and patiently whilst displaying the process with a large cursor in about 1 minute. https://youtu.be/LssH6uCwD4g?t=55 I hope this helps, Lee
  10. Hi themushroompress, welcome to the forums. I was able to open the file and resave it, you'll have to relink the images but it looks intact. Lee LWF experimental layout problem recovery.afpub
  11. Hi DigitalStirling I'm not sure why the line is appearing and I will continue to look into it, but in the meantime this seems ok as a workaround. 1 Add a white background, 2 convert GEM text to curve 3 expand stroke of blue square 4 Use stroke panel to expand a white stroke .1pt of group. 12. When you hold ctrl and launch Affinity apps, you will be presented with a menu like this: These options erase preferences etc and can help troubleshoot issues like the one you are having, reset studios in particular is the one I'm hoping will resolve your issue. Obviously some of these options are destructive to your saved data such as brushes/presets etc, hence the backup advice. Lee
  13. It looks like you have altered the render quality in your settings, change this to automatic/best and it should resolve it. Lee
  14. Hi Blubat, welcome to the forums The Surface 3 seems really quite on the edge of -just- being able to run the software, for example it has only 4gb of ram, 2 of which are required to run windows barebones and 2gb required to run our software, this leaves very very little to anything else. It may be worth disabling Hardware Acceleration, I can't find any information on the GPU but there's a reasonable chance this may be having an effect. Edit>Preferences>Performance>Hardware Acceleration Lee
  15. Hi Renate RS, welcome to the forums, Could you post a full screen screenshot showing your layer stack? Lee
  16. Yes that's expected as explained above. no one else can access the info required because of canons format. Manual editing is the only way. Lee
  17. Hi BenDE, Thanks for informing us, this particular bug is one we're currently aware of and is marked for future improvement. Lee
  18. Hi Nerp, welcome to the forums! I really think you'll like our non destructive adjustment layers, it really is a massive advantage and I recommend looking at some of our tutorials on this as they really show off the power: https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/tutorials/photo/ipad/ inpainting, mesh warp, grids (including isometric) are also all available and many more features of course that we hope lift us well above the competition. We don't have a trial of the iPad version though I'm afraid, but I would advise checking out the desktop version trial if you can as pretty much every feature from the desktop version of Photo is available in the iPad version. (located at the bottom of the store page) Lee
  19. Hi Luca, welcome to the forums! This seems to be a problem only with Adobe software I'm afraid, the font works elsewhere fine and there are many reports of failures with it in many of Adobes apps. https://www.google.com/search?q=Noto+Sans+adobe+problem&rlz=1C1ONGR_en-GBGB1005GB1005&oq=Noto+Sans+adobe+problem&aqs=chrome..69i57j33i160l2.6633j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Lee
My first thoughts are that these images are a combination of many techniques across multiple pieces of software, I would hazard a guess that he partially models and textures the buildings in 3D software and then brings them into photo manipulation software like ours to add details and overlay parts of photos almost like a collage. I have no real answer though, so I guess the real answer is years of practice and experimentation! Lee
  21. Hi Bogdan131, This is normal, remains in memory for any subsequent exports until the application closes, this is useful for those who export and make changes then export again, rather than having to copy from drive to memory each time. The memory is also overwritable by windows so it doesn't affect any efficiency elsewhere. Lee
