Solved. Deleted all Affinity apps. Installed all .EXE versions and everything works now!

YES, it worked. Thank you bbrother. I uninstalled everything from Affinity on my machine and deleted all folders with this name. Installing the three EXE worked.

Yes, I am referring to the simple File-Open Recent. Today, I uninstalled all three apps and reinstalled their fresh MSIX 2.3.1 versions. Same strange behavior: In Photo the File-Open Recent works, while in Publisher and Designer it doesn't. By the way, both Publisher and Designer do not switch language either. I have the feeling, that both apps reset everything to their default and do no longer work with stored settings. Could eventually my parallel Photo Beta 2.4 installation be the issue? I cannot delete it, because I already edited several images with it, and there seems to be not backward compatibility.

On Win 11 my latest installed versions of Publisher and Designer 2.3.1 do not show "Open Recent" files. Photo 2.3.1 works. Is there a setting somewhere, I miss?

Since several months, I am working with the Affinity Photo Beta versions, as they solve several issues (opencl and switching language). A few days ago, installing the latest V2.4 version a "point-of-not return" warning message popped up - saying that from now on all by Beta edits are no longer compatible with the regular V2 apps. Please explain. How long are my beta-edits incompatible with you regular product? Do I have to stay on Beta forever?

Even on a new Windows 11 PC all three apps (photo,designer, publisher) only work with Win-default language (german), but do not switch to english. The Photo Beta 2.4 changes languages as normal). Different issue: No recent-files on designer 2.3.1 I purchased all three apps on your initial V2 promo. Please advise

Hi stokerg, I installed all three 2.1 updates directly within the apps, when prompted to update. Strangely Affinity Photo is set to English UK, while Affinity Publisher and Affinity Designer are in German. All three 2.1 version do not switch language after changing the setting in Edit-Settings-General and automatically restarting the apps. I purchased all three apps directly in your store during special upgrade deal (no idea if MSIX or EXE). Do you need more info?

Installing V2 old version was not replaced. Strange. Opening an old file I get a cryptic message about compatibility. Bingo. The two affinity versions are not compatible. What does it mean for me? I have to urge all my clients and partners to upgrade to V2 or continue working on V1. Please specify this incompatibility issue - before - teasing us with nice features and videos. Please warn new users before the purchase of V2 or find a way to fix the compatibility issue while developing your new versions. Several month ago, I had another issue here and an answer was: „If you don’t like our product, piss off“…. This is definitely not the nice way to solve a software issue.
