This sounds like you have toggled the user interface and you have it in Mac's fullscreen mode. To get out of fullscreen mode move the mouse pointer up to the top of the screen to show the menubar and click on the third button from the left it has the two diagonal triangles in it. I am using Safari as an example

to get the user interface back click on the View > Toggle UI menu item. Or it may work with the keyboard shortcut TAB key.

Unfortunately, Packzview is only for labels/packaging companies for free. I've requested a product key, which has been denied. Well, I've told them it's a bit confusing to advertise it for free. Now they are pointing out on their website that's only for theses kind of companies, too bad...

Maybe you can attempt to replace the missing font using the Find/Replace panel. Go to Find/Format/Font and in Font Family, choose Missing fonts instead of All fonts. Then it's possible to select the missing font to replace with your updated font.

My goal is to eliminate any Adoabe product from my computer.
The last one I still need today is Acrobat Pro to check PDF before sending them to my printer.

This is counter-intuitive in that we are not thinking Text Frame but are thinking Path You have to select the layer and then go to View > Studio > Text Frame and then set the Stroke to none.

I actually meet the same issue.
My font stock is now 30 years old! :-) I have there a lot of fonts in Postscript Type 1.
I can use them without any issue in Publisher but none of them (NONE OF MY WHOLE COLLECTION!  i.e. : Industria, Swiss924BT) in designer.
Why ?

My fault, i was on FontLab 5 page ! :-)
As I find this app a bit expensive, i have given a try to TranType demo (as you suggested in your update above). I could convert my Industria Font to TTF and use it then in Designer without any problem. I even test a PDF generation, and it works very well.
So the solution I will  keep is that one : As Type 1 font are becoming really obsolete, I will buy TransType just tested (under Catalina with success :-) so I can convert all my 30 years old fonts stock (one by one, as needed of course).

If an output intent is included in a PDF, Acrobat expects that accurate rendering only occur using that intent. One can, using pdf 1.7 and choosing not to include a profile, switch between the output intents and still honor overprint, etc. Just the tonal values change in appearance.

I worked with Photoshop and Indesign for many years, but I discovered Affinity Designer in 2015 and Affinity Photo just a little later. I have created many book cover designs, most and the best with Affinity Photo. Now I have bought Affinity Publisher and I am absolutely thrilled. I now open all work with affinity publisher and switch very quickly to photo or designer. It's so practical, I love it! I am happy every time I switch in Affinity Publisher to Photo or Designer, I don’t want to do without it anymore. Thank you, Serif, you really did something great. Yet again;-)

this is actually how I'm working. I use AP 1.8.x to open my IDML files, so I can copy all ressources (Textes, etc), and then paste them in AP 1.7.x for production. Both apps are open side-by-side without a bug. Bienvenue :-)

Hey!
I do transit maps and diagrams for fun!
Here is my approach to show the soon to be metro network of Sofia, Bulgaria.
Lines M1 and M2 are in operation.
I have already included the M3 line which is supposed to be operational this year.
Posted this already on Reddit and other channels but I'd like to know what you think of what your feedback is too :-)

Hi @Jens Krebs, thanks to be so "obstinate" on this case :-)
But @MikeW is right : Black 100% pure is mandatory in press job.
Actually in V 1.8 the only issue is with the text itself :
Shadow with swatche "Black 100% CMYK process color with overprint" work very well (better then V 1.7) Black square with "Multiply" on layer and opacity at 60% (i.e.) work very well Text with swatche "Black 100% CMYK process color with overprint" should over print background but does not in V 1.8 (while it IS working in V 1.7) Now I have opened your last "test_new.afpub" file and all text were NOT overprinting the background (see attached i have done with your file). 
Now I have done a test in just selecting "Multiply" on the text layer and it work. But this is not how it should be because I have already selected "Overprint" in the swatche color. If I have a book with 60 pages to manage, i want to be assured that my black text overprint background. This is why this topic is open.
