  1. I have both Designer v1 and v2 installed, and when I examine the PDF export options I see that, for me, both versions have the "Allow Advanced Features" item selected. I don't recall having ever changed this setting. So... 🤷‍♂️
  2. 1. MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2021), Apple M1 Max, 32 GB. macOS Monterey. 2. I do not see the problem using Gaussian Blur, High Pass or Frequency Separation filters. 3. The problem does not manifest when Metal Acceleration is disabled (as appears to also be the case with some of the other problems that have been reported. Metal Acceleration seems to be a thorn in the sides of the developers). 4. I am using Affinity Photo 2.0.4. The streaking does not appear in every image being sharpened. It's most likely to appear in very large images. Changing the Radius and Factor settings will change the appearance of the streaking. Sometimes the streaking is more apparent with lower settings than when they are maxed out. In addition to the astronomical image that I posted above (which I found on the Internet and is 8,441 by 14,575 pixels), I also tried sharpening some images from my digital camera which are 2848 by 4288 pixels. The streaking did not show up in most of these smaller images. However, if I resampled the images to a larger pixel dimension and then applied the unsharp mask to that, the streaking would then appear. Below, is an image where I did exactly that. The streaks may appear horizontal, vertical, or both, as in the images below (showing before and after clicking the Apply button) . Hope this helps.
  3. Holy Moly is this bad! How is everyone not screaming for the fix. Once the sharpening is increased past a certain threshold you get the streaks. Unsharp Mask is an important, frequently used function. Please don't hold up releasing the fix due to some lesser bug fixes in the queue. I believe most people would rather see more frequent, small bug fix updates than waiting for fewer Big updates.
  4. I'm seeing the same issue here. It appears that any image that is sized 8192 pixels or higher (horizontal or vertical) does not render in the export image preview window.
  5. I'm not seeing this in the Mac version of Affinity Photo 2. Toggling between a JPEG and NEF (Nikon raw) version of the same image. Nothing is shifting. Maybe the issue is OS specific? MacBook Pro, macOS 12.6.1.
  6. Oddly, after reenabling Metal acceleration I have not been able to reproduce the constant delays that were causing the spinning wheel cursor. I think I may have rebooted the computer in the interim, so maybe that has something to do with it.
  7. Disabling the Metal preference seems to be a workaround for the frequent spinning pinwheel problem. It was becoming severe enough to render Affinity Photo almost unusable. I don't think it was this bad when I first installed it on this computer. I think the problem became noticeable after one or more macOS updates. Hopefully the developers are still working on this issue. Affinity Photo 1.10.5, Mac OS 12.3.1, MacBook Pro M1 Max.
  8. I was also having severe issues with the spinning pinwheel/beachball popping up constantly. Disabling the Metal preferance seems to be the workaround for me as well. I'm wondering what kind of potential performance we are giving up by doing this. Hopefully the developers are still working to solve the problem. Affinity Photo 1.10.5, Mac OS 12.3.1, MacBook Pro M1 Max.
