Hi @NathanC
Ok, I get the "sample continuously" but it doesn't explain why the replacement is muted, washed-out, pale... what ever you want to call it in the hair, there's obvious highlights (not many) that should become green. You can see the same in the other parts of the photo; the 50% grey background should become 50% green, it's barely 10%

The brush doesn't replace the selected colour, it replace everything else - see attached video. Start brush in hair, colour replacement is barely visible (also a problem), moving brush into other areas (face) continues to replace colour.

Hi @EmT
I see; so how do I set the lighting filter to be a Live filter, there's no option in it's settings?
-
Hi Walt
The filter is the first (and only) action, one step back is the original image. Seems like the filter acts differently than other adjustments hence the bug report... all adjustments should behave the same - my 2 cents.
Thanks for the help.

I agree there needs to be at least an option to bring it functionally closer, adding a "Auto Clean" (like Auto Load) seems like a simple addition to Photo and a step in the right direction.

@firstdefence - I just noticed I have it set for new layer, changed to same layer and it works - sorry about that.
Thanks again for the help.

Hi @MEB and @firstdefence
I'm on MacOS Monterey Apple silicon; purchased Photo direct, downloaded the plugin direct.
I added the directory for the plugin to the search folders and turned on "unknown plugins" and I know get a similar response as @firstdef. Unfortunately it doesn't apply the effect.
Any other suggestions I should look at? Thanks for the help.

I tried your lifted mouse trick and it works, it looks like it's the single click / drag issue your already working on - thanks for the help.

Follow the steps to install the Portraiture plugin without having any other editing apps installed.
1, Start the install of the Portraiture plugin
2, You will be prompted to select a host to install the plugin into
3, Close this window, the install will finish
4, Open Affinity Photo, Preferences > Photoshop Plugins
5, Click Add Folder and browse to the following location:
/Applications/Imagenomic/Portraiture 2 Plug-in
6, Click Add Folder under Plugin support folders and add the following:
/
7, Now click Close, you will be prompted to restart Affinity Photo
Once restarted the plugin is available under Filters > Plugins
(This was tested using the trial of the Portraiture plugin and Affinity Photo 1.3.5)
Just tried this with Photo 1.10.5 and Protraiture 3, it didn't work. I have the directories as indicated but nothing under Filters > Plugins

I created a simple macro to create 2 overlay layers 50% grey; when I click on the macro it doesn't always execute, I usually have to click it a several times and sometimes it'll execute several times.
- I've deleted and recreated the macro several times they all behave the same.
- I created a new document and it behaves the same.
- I restarted Photo and it behaves the same.
- I've restarted the computer and it still behaves the same way.

Color replacement brush not working
in Photo V1 Bugs found on MacOS
Posted
@walt.farrell you may be right and if we consider it right then it's obviously an error/bug since as you point out... in many situations people think the replacement isn't working properly. It needs to be corrected and be a colour replacement brush or renamed to hue replacement... I'm not sure how many will be happy with that. Look at Photoshop, Paintshop etc... color replacement brush - it works exactly as expected!
