Nice, I assumed the wood background would not be vector :) The work is very good - the details where I can notice that this is an illustration are the corners of the devices (in perspective) and perhaps the shadow of the imac against the wood background. Amazing job though

Hi, The tool does what it proposes to do, but I'd like to be able to drag one edge of the page to an object instead.

Great initiative, I'm curious about the book judging by it's cover. I think the illustration is very expressive. The layout and text I think are generally good (position of elements, font size). However, I'd use less visual variations on the page. For example, you chose mutiple text fonts that don't read very well together, and you mixed backgrounds even though you were trying to make them look the same. Also, I'd try to use a more subtle transition between the main title and the image (im referring to the thick black line that to me has too much prominence). Just a final suggestion: maybe find a way to use the blood texture to fill the letters of the title? Regards

Thanks A_B_C I couldn't move the end points of the tool graph individually. Secondly the tool stop having on the path effect after playing with it a bit - I had to close and open AD to make it work again. Is there an alternative to using this tool? For large/complex paths/contours it's difficult to have precise control.

No worries about first question, just found a way around it - the second snap menu! Should have guessed!

Hi, I'm finding it difficult to snap a point of a path to another point of another pather. I've played around with the snapping options and can't make it work. Is there a way to easily do this? Also, is there a way to see the paths editing points whenever they are selected or the mouse hovers through? Thanks

Thank you all! Very useful answers. Im still trying to get my head around the snapping menu. In AI I never had to worry about activating or deactivating snapping functions. Ai snaps generally well by default and when it sometimes doesn't recognise what I want to snap to I just click "cmd" while dragging and it activates extra snapping lines. I guess I'll eventually get used to ADesigner snapping. What I meant by "dragging one of its points and snapping it to a point of another shape" can be done straight away from the move tool in AI. In AI It's possible to see the curve points while using the move tool. I assume that In ADesigner it's necessary to use the node tool, select all the points from one object and then drag from one point. Is there a faster way? I have an extra question: Is there visual feedback to distinguish a shape that has been converted to curves from a shape that hasn't? All other questions were clarified, thanks a lot! Suggestion: I don't know about most users but I use "join" a lot - maybe it would be useful to have a shortcut for it.

Hi. I'm considering transitioning from AI, which I'm quite good at, to Affinity Designer but I need to get used to the interface. I want to know how to do some things I frequently do in AI. Can you please help? Questions bellow: 1. How do I drag a shape by dragging one of its points and snapping it to a point of another shape? 2. What is the shortcut to unselect objects? This would be very useful. In AI cs5 it's cmd+shift+a 3. How do I join two lines? In AI cs5 it's cmd+j 4. Is there a tool for creating a straight line? This would be very useful 5. Is there a way to select objects the same way as AI cs5? I don't like having to frame the whole object in order to be able to select it specially when I got a lot of zoom on it. Thats it, for now!
