It is in the plan... snapping and layout improvements will be ongoing.  I'm going to be doing some work on it once I've done with my current tasks.

The smart snapping / guides are really coming along! Any chance we can get distance functionality from other shapes as well? I added a gif demonstrating the functionality.

Creating a custom palette in AD is so simple stupid that this post should sound pleonastic...  :)
Anyway I'd like to share these two palettes.
 
The first one is the famous FlatUI color set.
The second one is the legacy Fractal Design Painter color palette, I'm carrying with me since I was sixteen  :D

Tonight doodle was to see what i could make without drawing it in my sketch pad first. No pen tablet was used either, I retrained myself to just a mouse and a dream.....

I imagine being able to see in real time the "relative distances" (X,Y coordenates) of the "copied star" from the center-to-center or side-by-side (or both) of the original star.
 
And to be able to see how much (in %) it's that star being increased or decreased in size. (being 100% the size before scalling it)

Hallo, i'm Pablo an amateur music producer and i bought AD so i can make the artwork for my tracks, i don't have any design background but i think AD is so friendly-user. I hope there will be more tutorials so i can improve my work, and i'm waiting for the new features specially adding curve pads to text and some brushes. 
 
Thanks for having so much communication with the customers and the Affinity community. 

This is a work in Progress. I not sure where I want to go with this or if I want to move further with it. The idea was to have him flight through a cloud. I kind of want it to be some what abstract.

It's time to update this thing... 
The same set, suitable for cartoonists, character designers and comic artists.



Now it is composed of:

4 layout tools
1 standard pencil and 3 layout pencils embedding typical colors like blue, red and green (you don't need to choose it from color picker).
Now with tilt for shading effect!

8 Inkers
G pens, trapezoid shaped and Sumi-e variants!
All these tools are sensitive to pen pressure and tilt.

I am really missing the ability to create vector brushes like I could do in the Adobe Illustrator.

Clone brush will be a feature of Affinity Photo. All Affinity apps will share the same file format and you will be able to dynamically switch between them.

You can clip anything to text by dragging it below/inside the text in the Layers tab.

A group is just a bunch of individual objects without any particular relation between them other than being in the same container (i.e. the group). You can delete or move them individually inside the group without affecting the others.
 
A compound object is an object that results from a boolean operation between two or more objects. If you change (i.e. move or edit its nodes) one of them, it affects the resulting compound object.
The advantage of compound objects is that you can perform non destructive boolean operations. So if you subtract a circle from a rectangle for example, you are still able to edit those two shapes and the resulting object will automatically reflect the changes you made. Try to expand a compound object in the Layers panel, select one of it's components and move it. The compound object will update in real time. It's the equivalent of Illustrator's compound shapes.
