  1. Hi @muddyfrog,

We do have an issue logged with the developers which relates to this error message appearing when the file's access to the NAS drive has been lost (even if it is later restored) during an editing session which prevents further saves. I've added your report for consideration.

V2 files are not backwards compatible with V1, so any native affinity files saved in V2 will not open in V1.

  2. Hi @LCamachoDesign,

I've not been able to replicate this issue so far on Windows 10 when editing externally within Windows Photos, Paint 3D and the other Affinity apps, I'm always prompted the message the resource has been changed but this requires me to manually update it via resource manager, as expected.

The only time the image auto updates within the app with this option disabled is when I open the same linked image within Photo 2, make my edits and then save, this is as expected as I'm not editing the image from an external app.

I'll see if I can replicate this on Windows 11 using the Photos app, could you confirm if trying this in a different external editor, such as in Designer 2 also causes the same issue? Could you possibly also provide a screen recording which demonstrates the issue?

    Many thanks in advance

I experienced it with some of the styles I uploaded to the Resources Section here on the forums some time ago (Link). Confusingly it doesn't happen to all of them. I can't see the reason for it. E.G. the style "Antique 03" ("Material" Styles). In my second Style Collection, there are even more samples that are affected by this issue. You find both here, attached to the opening post. They all work in Affinity Designer 1, but they are flattened in Designer 2. Unfortunately I can't upload a screenshot as a sample, because I always get an unknown server error if I try (Error Code: -200).

Edit: You can see it in the Styles Panel too, that these Styles are flattened.

Many thanks for providing a link to the file (great styles btw), I've been able to replicate the problem and it has now been logged with the development team for resolution. 🙂

  4.  Hi @Terry44,

On a very similar dual monitor setup on Windows 10 with a standard intuos tablet i've not been able to replicate an issue with this. I also setup my express keys to switch displays and this still enabled me to seamlessly switch between my tablet and mouse and change settings on the various panels.

Have you tried changing between the High/Low/Windows Ink tablet input methods in Photo 2 (Edit > Preferences > Tools) to see if any of these make a change, along with the windows ink setting found within the Wacom tablet mapping settings?

If this still doesn't make any change between settings, have you tried a complete re-install of your tablet drivers?

In-case this is tablet specific, I'll try and replicate this on an Intuos Pro when possible to monitor if there is any differences.

  5. Hi @François R,

Are you referring to the Export preview Window? If so, I'm not able to replicate an issue with CTRL + 1-4 to switch between the zoom percentages within the export preview on Windows.

After clicking on the preview window first to bring it in focus and then using the CTRL keys to change zoom levels, this is working as expected. I'm also able to change the zoom level via CTRL + Mouse wheel with the preview in focus and I can reset the zoom to fit by right clicking it twice.

Have you ensured that the window is in focus by clicking on it before trying the keyboard modifiers? I'm aware this isn't a requirement on Mac and this is likely down to the UI differences between OS's.

  6. Hi @Intuos5,

Many thanks for providing detail, As far as I'm aware this is by design and the same behaviour is in V1, if you were to paste an image inside the frame from your clipboard as demonstrated on your first page, this will cause the image to be placed as a child layer, rather than framed content (framed content is indicated by that little 'x' frame marker on the bottom right hand corner of the layer thumbnail) and as such, the frame is still visible along with the assigned fill colour.

However, if the image is placed as framed content into the frame (E.G via file > place or 'replace image') and then re-scaled to be smaller, the outer area of the frame will be transparent to show layers below, the frame fill colour is not shown because the framed content has replaced the picture frame guides/fill.

I do get the same behaviour after deleting framed content as shown in your second gif, though zooming in/out causes the fill colour of the frame to re-draw correctly.

  7. Hi @Gingamegs welcome to the forums,

This may be a situation which would benefit from enabling Hardware acceleration instead of disabling, have you tried the same workflow but with H/A enabled?

If you're still experiencing the same issue, could you provide me with a screenshot of your performance preferences, a sample file and a screen recording which demonstrates your issue? I can provide a private dropbox link if needed.

    Many thanks in advance!

  8. Hi @pxlr welcome to the forums,

Thanks for providing detail on the issue. Much the same as 4dimage, I've unfortunately not been able to replicate this issue yet after multiple attempts of following your steps/screen recording. Though, I have also been trying this on a 2k monitor, so I'll try and replicate this on a separate machine which has a 4k monitor in case that somehow has an impact on this freeze occurring.

Incase this is Hardware related, could you confirm if this issue occurs after installing the latest GPU drivers?
