  1. Hi @mhgd, I've been able to replicate your issue, the layer states are certainly falling out of sync on the duplicated PDF and I don't believe that placing the file should be a requirement in order for this to work correctly and it should be remembered. It likely does work with re-placing the same file since this action creates a new resource entry in the resource manager, in comparison to just duplicating which creates a sub resource. I've now logged it with the developers for further investigation. I'm able to replicate the issue in both scenarios of alt + drag or CTRL + C/V copy/paste both result in the layer states falling out of sync on my duplicated pdf, so this is a little strange. I can also replicate it with my document independent of the resource placement policy (set to either linked or embedded). I did also find that If I repeated the same steps with a placed and duplicated .afdesign file instead of a PDF, this works as expected.
  2. Hi @JeDe welcome to the forums, It's likely that the file app associations are wrong, if you right click on one of your .afphoto files > Properties > General Tab and change your 'Opens with' app to Affinity Photo 2, this should correct that issue. The 'file type not supported' error can indicate that the file has been corrupted if it's appearing on a file using the native file format, we can see if your file can be recovered by any standard means if you upload it to the dropbox link below. 🙂 https://www.dropbox.com/request/upJjh7UuTTj4BHtXEBfv
  3. Ah, I believe I've found another inconsistency on MacOS as this still shouldn't be possible so i'll get this logged, I was suprised that it worked in this scenario originally. My screenshot was on Mac, just tried the exact same on Windows and it's not possible, my apologies, please ignore my previous post!
  4. I'm certainly seeing screen redraw issue in v2 but not in v1... This is a bug that's logged with regards to the redraw issue when adjusting the contour on artboards, so i've just bumped the existing report. If the same is done on a standard canvas, the redraw shouldn't occur.
  5. Since it was not working as expected it was disabled for individual cells/rows inside a table as previously mentioned, though correct round dotted line style support may be added in the future. However i've found that you can still apply a round dotted line style to an entire table if you select the table in the layers panel, just not to cells/rows/columns.
  6. Hi @davidsatria welcome to the forums, These options for tables were intentionally disabled in V2/2.1 by the developers as this was something we previously logged, these were disabled for the following reason: This doesn't necessarily rule out them being re-enabled in a future update, though it's not something I can provide a timeframe for. This was possible from within the stroke panel (but not the table panel) for a time in 2.0, but was disabled from within this panel as of 2.1 for consistency (thread below for reference):
  7. Hi @ch22, As Ron mentioned, this is a re-draw issue affecting the layers below in the stack, zooming in/out will correctly draw the objects in again. This is something that has been previously logged with the developers, i've now bumped it with your report. 🙂
  8. Hi @JoergF welcome to the forums, It looks like the left hand side of the Account interface has been collapsed (Highlighted below) if you expand this part of the interface are you offered the option to create an Affinity ID?
  9. Hi @worktocode, I managed to find a copy of the .PSD file within your screenshot, it looks like the original .PSD file is using a mesh warp/transform applied to the 'Mockup' smart object, currently mesh transforms in .PSD files are not translated to the equivalent 'Live Mesh Warp' filter in Photo which can result in the object not maintaining the warp transform as expected. However we do have an outstanding improvement logged internally for support to be added for mesh transforms in .PSD files, i've now bumped the logged improvement with your report. If you want this to import with the expected perspective, you can turn off 'Import PSD smart objects where possible' under the app Settings > General and then re-open the PSD, this will cause the warp to appear correctly but will lose editability as the object is rasterised. Alternatively, you could remove the incorrect 'Perspective' filter applied to the poster and then apply the live mesh warp instead, but this would require you to manually transform the object with the handles again.
  10. Hi @MBHouse welcome to the forums, This is still an outstanding issue i'm afraid, i've tagged the thread with the logged issue and added your report, so when the issue is updated/fixed the thread will be updated with more information.
  11. Hi @Sahan, We don't have any news to share at the moment in regards to if this tool will be added. I've moved this thread over to feature requests for now 🙂
  12. Hi @Herojas93, Not as far as I'm aware when it comes to image files as they retain their document colour space when placed into a document so you would need to modify the original document, but if you intend to export your document to PDF there is the option to Convert your image colour spaces upon export, which will convert all existing images over to your document profile or the profile set in your export settings in the final PDF.
  13. Ah, I'm now seeing this behaviour on your 2.1 document when switching between the two modes, I'll add this to the existing report. Many thanks! QA have since confirmed this as a bug, so this should be fixed when the issue with discretionary ligatures is resolved. 🙂
  14. Hi @Hangman, I can't think of a reason why the discretionary ligatures are not being rendered when a placed PDF is changed to interpret with the Caslon Pro font, I'll be getting this logged with the developers for further investigation, if I hear anything back I'll let you know. Just tried this on my Mac and Windows machines, changing back to passthrough to interpret is changing my ligatures back to being shown. Could I take a look at the PDF/afpub file with the PDF you had this issue with?
  15. I appreciate you taking the time, thanks. I've followed each step of your recording down to the last detail, but in my case whenever I re-open the original 'test_01' working document, I find that my artboards are exactly how I left them with the correct artboard still in view and my new artboard becomes selectable from the dropdown. I've been testing this on a Ventura 13.3.1 M1 mac, but this could be down to a difference in environment, therefore could you send me a screenshot of your 'About this mac' so I can see your specs? Also, under Preferences > General could you let me know if 'Auto update linked resources' is enabled? I've tried with both and it shouldn't make a difference, but just want to be sure. Thanks again
  16. What document profile are you using in your screenshot? 100k only can vary quite greatly between different colour profiles like Hangman showed earlier, and the same can apply to Pantone simulations with colour space differences. Are you working in the CMYK colour space or RGB?
  17. Hi @Designer1, I've just pulled up a side by side comparison of V2.1 and V1 in two new documents using the same CMYK profile (US web coated SWOP v2) and created a new swatch and a 100k only shape, both apps show the exact same colour as expected. Is it possible that you had rich/4C black saved to a swatch previously?
  18. Many thanks for your files and additional clarification, This still appears to be working as expected for me, this time I opened your file > double click to edit either of the linked documents > Closed down the original working file > added a new artboard and some content > saved the linked file > re-opened the working document and both placed files appeared as exactly as they were before, and I could even change the currently displayed artboard of the linked file to the new one I created with no issues. I also repeated the same as above without closing the working file, but instead saved my linked file after adding an artboard and then closed and re-opened my working file again and everything still appeared as expected. I still feel as if I'm missing something or this could be down to a different environmental factor, Could you possibly provide me with a screen recording which demonstrates what's happening? I've linked a brief guide below if you're unsure. https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT208721 Thanks
  19. Hi @madPXL, I've not been able to replicate an issue with this yet, In a new .afdesign document containing a few linked .afdesign files which have multiple artboards, If I make any changes to one of the linked .afdesign files, such as adding a new artboard and then save, this updates the resource as expected in my working document and all other linked documents retain their previous appearence. In my working document, the placed resource view was changed from a singular artboard to 'Document' so I could see all the artboards in the file. There is likely more to this which I'm missing in my attempts to replicate this, therefore could you potentially provide me with your document and linked resources? The easiest way to do this would be to save your working document as a packaged file via file > save as package and then save to an empty folder and then send me a copy of the .zip, I've provided a private upload link below if you do not wish to share this publicly. https://www.dropbox.com/request/sTxVpUsY2vREEiODXad2 Many thanks!
  20. That does sound quite unusual, I've just tested this for myself by exporting a new document containing a few rasterised shapes in Photo to JPEG using the default JPEG (Best quality) pre-set and then I've opened the same file in Illustrator, used image trace and it's worked as expected. If you could provide a sample image where you're encountering this issue it would certainly help narrow it down, as it could be something to do with the colour profile, bit depth or metadata of the image.
  21. Hey @KeithStoddart welcome to the forums, I'm not sure I completely follow, do you mean you couldn't use image trace in Illustrator on a JPEG exported from photo 2? I'm not sure how the JPEG being exported from Photo would have any influence on this as I don't believe the source of the JPEG would be the cause, if it's an issue within Illustrator it may be best to direct your question towards Adobe's support. 🙂
  22. Hi @BradKoerner, Sorry to hear that, I've provided some initial suggestions below to run through to see if we can help alleviate the intermittent app crashes: Disable Hardware Acceleration In some circumstances/hardware configurations having Hardware Acceleration enabled can cause problems, this can be disabled under Edit > Preferences > Performance. Once you have unticked this setting, restart the app for the change to take effect. Update your GPU Drivers Make sure that you have the latest available drivers installed for your GPU and if possible run through a clean install, I've linked Nvidia's driver search tool below. https://www.nvidia.com/download/find.aspx Set ‘Renderer’ to ‘WARP’ Setting the Renderer setting to ‘WARP under Preferences > Performance offloads tasks from the GPU to the CPU which can impact performance, but also confirm if the crashing is a result of a problem with the Graphics card. Factory Reset the app via a CTRL runup This will reset all custom brushes, assets, presets etc. within the app, but may also help alleviate crashes in some circumstances, this can be done by following the below: Close all Affinity Apps Hold CTRL and Launch Photo 2 whilst still holding CTRL A ‘clear user data’ menu will appear, tick all boxes excluding the ‘Deactivate’ box at the bottom Press ‘Clear’ and the app will now launch. ------ If you’re still experiencing the same crashes, it would be helpful if you could provide additional context on where you’re typically experiencing these crashes to help confirm if they’re related to specific tools/adjustments or if they’re file specific. Also, it is important to distinguish if your app is outright crashing/closing or if it is just an unrecoverable freeze. If it's crashing, it would be helpful if you could provide a few of the most recent crash reports, as they may help narrow down the cause. I hope this helps!
  23. Hi @VicDigiArt, Based on your screenshot it looks like the your design was made of unfilled, separated strokes. If you're now wanting to fill the gaps in between the strokes, the new vector flood fill tool might be a good candidate for this. You can add this tool onto your tools list by going to View > Customise Tools and then drag and drop the bucket icon into your tools list. The video tutorial linked below gives a good overview of how this tool works. If this isn't what you're looking for, as GarryP mentioned it would be helpful if you can provide us with the document along with some additional information and clarification on the issue you're having.
  24. Hi @gumbo23, Are you possibly looking for the text auto flow function? This can be activated on your frame containing the overflowing text by shift + clicking on the text frame arrow. I've linked the help guide below for a more detailed overview of this feature. https://affinity.help/publisher2/English.lproj/pages/Text/flowingText.hml
  25. Hi @Aaron Siaw welcome to the forums, There's a known issue logged with the developers to do with the brush strength (bottom left slider), if this is set to 100% nothing happens, but if you reduce this to 99% or lower you will start to see the mixer/blending effect when used on your pixel layer.
