  1. After 1+ month of using Designer, I can confirm (at least for me) that Ver 2.1.0 has resolved the issue of freezing during export persona! Thank you!
  2. With a recent update, I cannot click and drag the various paragraph spacing options, such as: L/R indent First/Last line indent space before/after paragraph. Strangely enough, I can still click and drag all of the "positioning and transform" options under Characters. Prior to my recent update (I'm now on 2.1.0), I was able to click and drag all of these options. Can someone help explain this?
  3. Oh interesting, I wonder if this is similar to my "pretend"-save method in that it's making the app find the right folder first (bc you're exporting only 1 slice). I'll see if exporting 1 slice at a time works better. Thanks for the heads up!
  4. It's now been a few months since I upgraded to V2, and I can confirm that the export issues still plague my Affinity Designer and Photo when I'm in Export Persona. I have a Macbook M1 (Monterey 12.6). I never had this issue with Affinity pre-M1, but once I upgraded to Affinity V1 optimized for M1 the crashes started to happen. I was hoping for V2 to solve the issues, but they still came back. So far, the only workaround that have reduced the number of occurrences is selecting the folder I want to export to by first pretend-saving the file to that same folder—that way the correct folder is brought up when I want to export. That only works sometimes, however.
  5. A couple workarounds that have reduced the number of crashes for me: Closing the file more often. Whenever I stop working on a file for a while, I close it. This alone has significantly reduced the number of freezes for me. Sometimes, I even fully close down the app. I used to have 3-5 crashes a day; it's now down maybe once a week. Before selecting Export Persona, I go into "Save as..." and select the folder that I'm planning to export into. I then click "cancel" without actually saving. This way, when I enter the Export persona, it will directly open that same folder when exporting, thus reducing the number of crashes that often occur when navigating the folders. I have now purchased V2, but I haven't used it enough to see if it'll crash.
  6. I hope so. This has been an issue ever since I picked up my M1. The only saving grace is that after restart, Designer—knock on wood—recovers the file. Still, I make it a habit to save often and always before I go into Export persona.
  7. Unfortunately, shortly after the problem seemed to go away, it has come back for me as well. The crashes are seemingly random, but the silver lining is that most of the time an app restart or computer restart helps. Another anecdotally possible solution: turn off other Affinity apps and any other apps that are resource hogs like Chrome. When I run only Designer, the instances seem to be less frequent. Good luck!
  8. Slight update: I continued to have issues even when I turn off hardware acceleration (as hinted elsewhere as a possible solution). However, I seemed to have solved the issue by going into preferences > performance > Display and changing it from "OpenGL" to "OpenGL (Basic)" (which requires a restart of the app).
  9. I'm having the same issues—quite randomly and suddenly. The thing I noticed is that it began happening after I did the following: 1. Finish artwork with multiple art boards. 2. Go to Export Persona. I see that the slices' names are not the same as the art boards, which I renamed earlier. 3. Under "Slices", I select and delete all slices (except background). 4. Under "Layers", I select all artboards and click "create slice", thereby updating all slices to the correct names. 5. I set export parameters for the slices, and click "Export Slices" 6. App freezes as soon as the "Select folder" window opens up. 7. I force quit app. Restart app doesn't always work. Restarting my computer usually works, but freezing may occur again, always at the same spot—the "Select folder" window. I'm on Mac OS Monterey, ver. 12.2.1, but the issue started happening shortly before the update. I updated my Mac hoping the issue would go away.
