  1. NotMyFault - thank you, but I *seem* to have overcome the issue. I'm grateful however for your input Eddy-2 - that's fantastic - thank you I've upgraded to V2 Designer today and loaded the design file that you've kindly sent.. and the problem seems to have stopped. So.. again thank you for your time !
  2. Newbie here so please be gentle ! I have a (circular) object that I've imported as an SVG. I've resized it and made some minor alterations. The object is 320mm radius. I export that and all is well. I've resized the document to get rid of the unnecessary white space, so the document has gone from being 400mm square to 330mm square. Again.. all is good I've now decided to fill a couple of the interior objects with color. When I click on one of the interior objects it resizes the whole document to 120mm sq. I'm sure that this is a very rookie error, but can someone please explain what I'm doing wrong ? Thanks in advance
  3. Thank you. Again.. following your very kind and detailed instructions ... it didn't go to plan after item 3. However... as a basis, and with a lot of node deletions and readjustment of node curves using guides I now have something that resembles what I was trying to achieve. I'm grateful to everyone who helped.
  4. Thank you to everyone, but I don't think that I'm at a level of understanding where I can do this yet. I've tried to follow all the very kind videos, but either not seeing the same controls or not getting the same results. But thank you again for taking the time.
  5. Hi Walt, and thank you. On the image below I have my original shape in red In blue I've (very, very badly !) freehand traced what I'm trying to achieve. The Transform tool wont (as I understand it) give me the accuracy that I need. The blue line should follow the red line but be an exact distance from it.
  6. How can I replicate a multi line shape with an exact off-set so that it follows the line but at a specified distance away, thus giving an exact thickness to the shape ? I tried the Contour tool but that adds thickness all around the line, which obviously changes the dimensions. Example below.
