I am looking into to purchasing Tangent Wave 2 before i buy i want to know have anyone use with affinity or use any editing console to speed up editing process?

Hello everyone i am follow along to a tutorial using the marquee Tool. after the selection is made i would go under the edit tab "copy flatten" then "paste" the i would have a new layer of just is what is in the selection. PLEASE HELP!!! or can someone give me a new method.
