  1. Well, V2.1 is out, so if anyone already tried out let me know how the performance is. I doubt they fix anything , tho.
  2. I've read the patch notes , and it seems they didn't adress the mess that is the performance. Really sad that they can't come up with a solution to the crashes, slowdowns and choppiness that a lot of people are expriencing .
  3. I was thinking the same thing when i saw this topic about V2 getting slow over time, it happens on V1 too . I'm currently using V 1.10 and the the more time i use it the more choppy and laggy it gets. So the problem is not only present on V2. I have an i5-11400H , 16 gb of ram and a rtx 3060, so is not hardware related. When i saw they were releasing V2 the first thing i thought was "i hope they fix the slow down thing" , but it got worse. I didn't try version 2.04 but i doubt things changed.
  4. How about Designer? Did you guys fix some of the performance? By saying "performance improved in longer sessions" are you saying that it's normal to experience slowdowns and choppiness after long periods of work?
  5. Hardware Acceleration does nothing, never did. Either there's a memory leak or Serif needs to implement a "clear cache" option. There is a threat about this:
  6. is anyone experiencing the same problem ( less and less performance when Designer is open for extended periods of time) on version 1.10 ?
  7. We are in version 2.0 and this problem still exist. After a couple of hourse Designer gets supper laggry and unresponsive. No fix to this , yet?
  8. Same, i checked task manager and i didn't find anything wrong . The only thing i noticed is that V2 eat less ram than V1 , or at least takes more time to consume what v1 consumes in like 1 hour of use.
  9. How much ram do you have? I get this "not responding" message all the time on my laptop with 8gb ram.
  10. Happens to me with Affinity designer v2 , works like butter when i launch it, but after some time of use it starts to lag, and theres a delay on any action (select an object, move around thing, change between artboards) it takes like 3 to 5 sec . Things seems to get worse the more i use the application. Windows 11 , 16 gb ram, rtx 3060 i5 11600k .

  12. Hi! so, is this the reason why after working 1 or 2 hours in affinity desinger the software starts running slow and i can barely select any shapes? I have 8gb of ram, and i work with social media pieces, so nothing crazy, but somethimes i work with a lot of artboards . Affinity runs like butter when i launch it, but after some work i notice that it starts to slow down at the point i need to restart it. I was wondering if upgrading to 16gb would fix this problem.
  13. Affinity 1.10 used to eat a LOT of ram ,for example i used to work on designer or photo for a couple of hours and suddenly all become choppy and slow. Affinity started to page to the pagefile i guess? Is v2 handling this things better?
  14. i see. Can you walk me through the process with one example, because i have no idea how to do it.
  15. I was watching Infinite Pulp Paper Textures Tutorial and at some point the show how you can resize the artboard, hit enter and the layers with a texture will resample and adjust automatically to the new artboard size. I tried placing some of my patterns on artboards, resize, but nothing happens. How can i make this work with any image or texture? here's the video with the example on how it works (around 2:10 mins) thanks in advance.
  16. At this point I'm so frustrated with the program I'm ready to try something else. The longer I use the program the slower it gets. While closing the app and bringing it back up seems to fix it, it's only temporary.
  17. This is what's happening to me. I can work in AD for 2-3 hrs max, before it starts acting laggy, choppy and slooooow. I'm on a new brand pc, with 8 gb of ram and a rtx 3050ti. Either you need at leas 16 gb of ram to work with the affinity suite, or there's a big memory leak ...or both. Disappointing.
  18. basic tasks, basic designs with text, photos and some layers effects. I can work around 1, or 2 hrs before it starts acting slow and choppy, even clicking on a different tab takes like 2, 3 sec. I tried everything i found on the forums with no luck. is this a known issue? i have new setup, so that's not the problem.
