  1. Hi Folks,

I have come across the fact that ON1 is offering out ON1 effects 2018 as a free download. It comes with a load of Photoshop (Sorry for swearing) plugin's. I am having some trouble with getting these to work with Affinity. I have come across old posts on here from the start of the year stating that Affinity does not support ON1... does anyone know if that is still the case? I successfully use the NIK (Formerly Google) collection Plugin's on a regular basis and with some great success with Affinity.

    Any ideas?

  2. Hi Folks,

    I'm after some help again....

So I really admire two very very good automotive photographers... Amy Shore and Laurent Nivalle. Both have a similar(ish) style and this extends to their editing process. I have read numerous interviews with both of them and they both mainly use Photoshop (Sorry to swear!) rather than lightroom and I am very keen to try and re-caprture their respective styles but by using Affinity Photo.

I have attached two files which are photos from both Laurent and Amy respectively. Can anyone out there point me in the right direction to try and obtain the same style? Obviously I don't want to be copying their styles out right as that is not what photography is all about but I am very curious as to how to achieve this.

Thanks folks, hope you can help.

    Regards

  3. Hi Folks,

It's been a while since I've been on here. Must mean I've been getting better with AP and AD... hmmm.

    Anyway....

Artboards, what are they all about? I understand the idea behind them, useful for showcasing projects etc but they do confuse me and I am after some help. I have created a number of social media ready type banners and profile photos etc that I plan to use across various social media platforms for a new upcoming venture. I have each of these created as separate files having used both AD and AP to create them. I then thought it would be good to have them printed so that I can pin them up in my office and mull them over. I thought what would be the best way to place all of these separate files onto a single sheet and print it to display it. Then I thought of artboards. Now first things first am I being daft and this isn't a good use of art boards in this situation? secondly. How the hell do I place all my separately created layer files onto a single artboard? is it possible or am I just getting the whole concept totally wrong and this isn't going to work?

Any help would be greatly appreciated as alway.

    Thanks

  4. Firstly,

Thanks folks, very useful answer (As per usual in this forum). So time for the second silly question then.... lets say I have achieved the look I was after by using the LUT and then doing some other tweaks via the develop/Tone Mapping persona etc... Is there a way to save ALL of these adjustments including the application of the LUT so that it will be possible to apply it more quickly to future photos or for example I have 200 plus photos I want to have the same effect, how can I re-create it across all the images without starting the process from scratch?

    Cheers

  7. Hi folks,

Sorry if this has already been requested, I couldn't find a thread showing that it had so hopefully I am not duplicating.

Are there any plans to introduce a feature to Affinity Photo (Or even create a stand alone app) that would offer the same workflow management that Lightroom (Sorry I know it's a swear word) has? I would love to use Affinity Photo as my go to software for all my photo edit work but it would be handy if I could arrange and sort all of my shots from a shoot within Affinity Photo and not have to use a third party app to manage them such as the Macs native photos app etc. It would also be VERY handy to be able to apply edits across multiple photos at the same time.

    Cheers folks

  8. Hi Folks,

I'm after some help again. I created a very simple and basic logo design in affinity designer and I now want to use a PSD mockup of a van I have and put my design over top of that to show it on the van. I have opened up the Mock up van and my design both in Affinity Photo but the next bit is where it all goes wrong. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get the overlay right. I know I will need to use a mask but I really am not very clued up with using them. Can anyone help?

    Thanks again Mark

Oh yeah... Ive attached my two files

  9. Hi Folks,

Attached is a work in progress art deco air show poster I am putting together. I have never been the artistic type so I am struggling with coming up with a suitable way to add shading to the plane. As you can see there are 3 planes on my poster (There will only be one in the end) each one is an option I am looking at. 1 is white with no shading but I think it looks too clinical. 2 is one with a grey gradient added and 3 is a white one with a further black layer added over the top with the opacity reduced and with the noise increased. I'm not happy with any of them if I am honest. Is there anyone out there that can offer some advice?

    Cheers folks
