  1. Hi David, thanks for the detailed reply. I've tried processing 381 files without parallel processing and it took me 11 min and 45 seconds to finish. There were no issues with the generated files. I didn't measure the time with it enabled because some files would be unusable. CPU utilization stayed between 11% to 49% while GPU stayed 4% to 42%, so it seems to me that the number of parallel processes should be configurable and should probably stay between 2 and 4 in my case, but there is no setting except for the on/off option - when turned on, Affinity will launch 16 processes in my case which won't help much with performance (inefficient) and it is most likely contributing to the mosaic/artifacts created in the images. The worse part for me is that the default setting in Affity is to save the images on the original folder, with the same name, without an overwrite warning! (if you do not have a backup and your original images are overwritten with the garbage mosaics, you basically lost them!). DxO Photolab and Corel Photopaint, for example, would allow you to append a string to the processed images file names, and would give you an overwrite alert in case there are already images on that folder with the same name (the alert can be turned off but it's on by default).
  2. That is true, there is no firm evidence the issue is with Affinity. On the other hand, as a user, I don't really care where the issue is and I need to decide which apps are working well for my use cases, generating great images, and making my workflow easier and faster, and which apps are not working well, generating garbage images, and/or slowing my workflows. Guess which ones I will keep using, recommending to others, keep upgrading, etc...
  3. Thank you for the replies suggesting to disable HW acceleration - that could be a workaround the problem. On the other hand, I bought the expensive laptop with the expensive video card to use it for Photo and Video (I don't play computer games), and it's been working fine for all my video applications and Photo apps such as DxO Photolab, Corel Painshop Pro, etc. The only application having this type of issue is Affinity, so to me this is a bug that needs to be fixed.
  4. What was the macro that you applied to each file? Please give details of the steps in the macro. Vibrancy %14, Saturation 7%, Clarity 14%, Unsharp Mask What is your Operating System/Platform (Apple/Ipad/Windows etc) and what version? Windows 11 64-bit How much memory do you have? 16Gb (memory chart was ok during the process) What graphics card do you use? NVIDIA RTX 3050 Do you have Graphics Hardware Accelleration turned on or off? on Are you loading your image files from (and saving them to) a local disk? Local SSD disk Also, in Batch mode there is an option "parallel processing" but there is no option to choose the max number of parallel process - I think there should be one.
  5. I was batch processing files and applying a macro to multiple files. When I checked the generated files I saw that several of them had an artificial mosaic created on them (see attachments). I believe this is a bug that must be fixed.
