  1. I don’t see a way in the menus or the help files that one can use foreign language dictionaries with spell checking. Example: I am creating a concert program in English but have to use many foreign (German and French) words. APub flags them, which is very annoying. However, I don’t want to add them to its built-in English dictionary either. Microsoft Office, for example, lets you use multiple language dictionaries.
  2. Thanks, but that worked only to an extent. Not everything was reliably imported as text. I wound up importing the PDF into MS Word, figuring that because it’s a word processing program everything would get imported as text that I could then paste into APub. This mostly worked, except for one section of text that was imported as an image instead of text. But it worked better than selecting text from a PDF and pasting it into APub. Thanks for your help.
  3. Screen shots won't be necessary. I got it to work by creating a new, test document containing a text box, with "Show Special Characters" activated. When I started typing, the special characters (e.g., line feeds and spaces) magically displayed. I also used a relatively large type size (16 pt.). Otherwise, the special characters are very difficult to see, at least on my iMac's 4.5K display. Unlike with Microsoft Office apps, the special characters in APub display smaller than the type size and in a faint blue color, at least on my monitor. Anyhow, thanks for your help, Walt. Much appreciated.
  4. Thanks. I found that feature in the Text menu; but when I click on it, nothing displays - no line or paragraph feeds or any other special characters that I can see. Oh, well.
  5. But how about in Publisher? That's the program I'm trying to learn. (I'm new to Affinity software, just having switched from MS Publisher because I bought an iMac.) And if this feature exists in Affinity Publisher, where can I find it? So far, I haven't succeeded. Thanks!
  6. Is it possible to combine multiple text boxes into one text box? I can't find anything in the help files. I imported into APub a Microsoft Publisher file that I had previously exported to a PDF - i.e., I imported the PDF version into APub. The file is all text. The import caused every few words to be in separate text boxes. For example, one paragraph may consist of dozens of small text boxes. I need to combine various groups of text boxes into one editable text box - for example, combining all text boxes in one paragraph into one, so that the paragraph consists of only one editable text box. I assume there must be a way to do this (I'm sure hoping there is), but I don't know. If not, I will have to recreate the entire document from scratch in APub, which is something I'm hoping to avoid. Thanks for any info you can provide.
  7. Was this feature ever implemented? I'm new to APub and can't find this feature. Thanks.
