  1. Hi Callum, I tried opening other .afdesign documents I'd already created, and tried creating a few new documents. When I first open each document, the violet bleed-guide line is visible and the bleed area is hidden by black. When I go to View > Show Bleed, Show Bleed has a check mark next to it even though the bleed area is hidden by black. If I un-check Show Bleed, the violet line disappears, and the bleed remains hidden by black. I then go back to View > Show Bleed. It is unchecked. I select it, and the bleed area is then revealed. I go back to the View menu. Show Bleed has a check mark. I unselect it, and the bleed area is then hidden by black again, but no violet bleed-guide line appears. I tried multiple times. Each time after the initial setting change, the View > Show Bleed setting does reveal and hide the bleed, but the violet bleed-guide never reappears. Thanks Gino bleed guide screenshots.afphoto
  2. MacOS 13.3.1 iMac 2017 27" retina 64 gigs ram Designer, Photo, Publisher 2.1.0 (Publisher only crashed once- the rest of the crashes are Photo and Designer) Files saved in both designer and photo formats. File sizes around 100 - 350 MB. RGB files at 600 px inch, grayscale files at 1200 px inch, 20" x 10" (with .125 bleed for .afdesign files) - Hi, Designer and Photo have crashed multiple times in the last few weeks, seemingly when I do a variety of tasks, which I did not log, sorry; I just cursed, relaunched the apps and went on working. Only occasionally does either app offer to recover the file on relaunch, and that was early on when they first started crashing. I relaunch, open the document from the drive, and it is at the last save point. I did notice a repeating crash when dragging layers in both photo and designer. It happened four times in a row in Designer when I dragged a mask layer out of a group, and it seemed to not crash when I then tried right-clicking the mask layer first and selected "release mask" before dragging it. I also had Designer crash several times when I selected File>Edit in Photo... I now close the file (.afdesign format) then open it in Photo from a right-click in the Finder, which has worked successfully so far. This seemed to happen to both .afdesign and .afphoto files when passing them back and forth. These are large files and I suspect memory handling problems. I checked the crash logs via the Console app. It shows reports for about a half of the recent crashes. They are not .crash files, but are .ips files. Console revealed them in the finder at Library>Logs>DiagnosticReports>Retired. I have attached the contents of the Retired folder. Thank you! 3. I was moving my drawing tablet, smacked a bunch of keys on the keyboard, and now the bleed guides, the thin, violet lines that indicate the bleed when it is hidden have disappeared in Designer. They were there, worked fine until I hit the mystery combo of keys. I've gone through the view menu, tried clipping and unclipping, went through all the view items. I turned show bleed on and off, which works; there's just no light-violet line showing where the bleed area ends outside the document dimensions when the bleed is hidden. Tried document properties and checked that the violet color is still selected, it is. Searched online, didn't find anything... Anyone have an idea on how to get the bleed guides to show again? MacOS 13.3.1, Affinity Designer 2.1.0
  4. I'm getting the same blocky shapes when I use the smudge tool, and can't figure out how to get a smooth smudge. Very frustrating. I've tried selecting one of the basic brushes, both round hard-edge and soft round, and have tried changing the spacing on the brush. None of it works. The spacing on the soft round is set to 25. It wont go lower than 1%. The hard round is set at 1% and won't go to 0. I don't see how this blockiness isn't a bug - I never changed the smudge-tool brush or its settings (other than size) in the first place.
  5. Year after year I bought PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign. I loved Adobe products back then. Then Adobe came up with fancy "suites," cranked up their prices, and finally lost me when they went to subscription hell. I then started using Affinity products. I really like all three, Photo, Designer, Publisher. Impressive. Beautiful, smart interface. A joy to run. Intuitive workflow. I bought all three for Mac. Then all three for Windows. Then Photo and Designer for iPad. I'd DEFINITELY buy all three again if there were a LINUX VERSION. My Linux machines run flawlessly, better, less errors than Mac, way yonder better than our Windows machines. I would happily just run Linux if there was commercial software I could run on it. Like Affinity. Most people don't really care what OS they are on, just what software they can run on it---they don't run Linux because the software they want to BUY isn't isn't available for Linux, because companies like Affinity or Serif think Linux users are a bunch of beatniks, whoever they are. Were. If Affinity never comes out with a Linux version, I will no doubt move on. Affinity products are great, but there are always alternatives.
