afroniquely got a reaction from YM77 in PDF Export Reverses Page Order
Hey everyone. I need to know if there is a way to establish a page order when we export multiple artboards to a PDF. Currently, even though I set up my artboards in order, once they were exported, they actually came out in the reverse. So instead of 1 to 14, it came out 14 to 1 in page order.

How can I reverse this? Is there some way to also set the order on export and is there a certain way we must lay out our multiple documents in order to get the pages right all the time? Thanks.

Oh and another question, is there a way to add multiple artboards when you just create a brand new document? So when that dialog box pops up and you have a check mark for "create artboard" is there some way that it can create multiples and not just 1? Or can we only do that after the doc is opened?

Adding my +2000 votes for this. This is a MUST HAVE feature. This would be such a time suck to still create books/pdfs in Affinity Publisher and still end up having to use an external tool to link urls in text (whether explicit links or ones hidden behind custom text).
Please certainly consider adding this to the immediate release, and I truly believe this feature alone would be a winner for many.

From a technical point of view, you are very right, Dave. But from a user’s perspective things look a bit different, in my opinion. The Layers panel presents itself as a list, and according to all customs and conventions, it seems natural not to look at the bottom of a list to find the first item on the list. I am quite sure that nobody reads a list from bottom to top, regardless of the technical aspects that might underlie the creation of it … so the confusion is all too understandable …  ;)

Never mind, the implementation of a Pages panel should solve this problem …  :)
    Cheers, Alex

I wouldn't have thought it would be necessary to have a rearrange option during export. Artboards are exported in is the same order they are created, so normally there should be no need to reorder them at all. New document, create 3 artboards Artboard1, Artboard2, Artboard3, and they'll export as Page 1, Page 2, Page 3 respectively.

We plan to add proper multi-page support, with a Pages panel, and that should render this issue moot.

You're welcome. It wasn't difficult at all.
    1. Create a photoshop document, and add shapes to it. (Must be an actual shape to work properly in my experience.)
    2. Assign styles to the various shapes. (You can see from my provided screenshot I used circles)
    3. Save .psd file and open it in AD
    4. Click on each shape, one at a time, then right-click and select "Create Style"
    5. Right-click on the style in the panel and choose Rename. You're done.

    Hi All,

In this lesson we look at using the new Art-Boards tool to create slides so we can create some simple animation within Keynote.
Even though Keynote is designed for presentation it has some great built in tools.

Affinity on its own its amazing but when you start to use it in your workflow with other applications it takes it to a whole new level.

    Enjoy...

As you may know, we now have a few iPad Pros at Affinity HQ and will be starting to devote more time to developing versions of Affinity for it in the coming months.

They are incredible bits of kit, and we think—especially in conjunction with the Pencil (and Affinity when it's available!)—the iPad Pro will be a serious tool for creatives.
Want to get your hands on one? We're entering anyone who helps spread our amazing App of the Year news on social media into a free draw!   All you need to do is:   Follow us on Twitter and retweet this tweet   OR   Like our Facebook page and share this post   The winner will be chosen at random and announced on this forum thread sometime on Friday the 18th December.   Best of luck!   Kate

Pretty Much,..I was thinking something similar, because in almost every tutorial Lynda shares it's almost always sponsored by Adobe. Them joining the ride to promote Affinity Products would probably rub Adobe the wrong way, unless there is some contract or clause they can use to do so will still maintaining a good relationship with Adobe.

I look forward to seeing major tutorials however on places like SkillShare, CreativeLive, Udemy (in addition to Ronnie's course that is) and also perhaps real in-depth tutorials directly from the source - the Affinity team! Stuff like designing a UX.UI layout, creating mockups, drawing an elaborate scene in Designer, etc.

    Hey guys!

Today I played around with the displace live filter.
It’s a very nice and powerful tool to simulate folds of cloths,
but also cracks in walls (like shown in one of the official tutorial
videos by Affinity), grainy paper textures and so on …

This is my first »tutorial« … ever. If you may call it one.
So forgive me for eventual mistakes.
Though It’s pretty much self-explanatory and not that hard
    to follow, I think. ;)

Like I captioned the video: basically you want to create a separate
image with a greyscale profile (at least that’s how I do it), reduced
noise and texture plus a good balance between high, low and mid values.
Grey fabrics work best if you want to change the colour afterwards.   Maybe this helps, have fun playing around with different backgrounds!  ;)   Cheers Dennis

I have used this resource for years.  They have a large, easily searchable catalog.  I have never failed to find something I can use for a background, overlay, texture etc.

With a free membership you get a much larger download limit.  I find that I have never bumped my limit.  Of course, with paid membership one gets an amazing download limit.

    hi there,
    happy to help you.
i coming back to upgrade the ressource ! because with the Affinity designer 1.3.2, we can use the navigator( in the previous version, AD doesn't keep the transparency).

Download this .ZIP with the ressources before to start:
    Crop mark

1 - Add 10mm on your document for the bleed. (like in the first step of my tuto)
2 - Press shitf+CMD+M to show the media navigator.
3 - Right click, add folder and select the folder that you download previously.
4 - Drag and drop at right place and this done !

    thank

    Hi AD Buddy.

I give you my library of crop mark for Affinity Designer. this print sign is ready to print. for this example i use A4, but you can use for every format you want.

i'm Working on version of this crop ca be used with media library palette… but, it doesn't work with AD file.

Step 1 : Setup your page.
Add +20mm to your format and set the marges at 10 mm everywhere to define you format with it. everything outside the marges is the bleed.

Step 2 : Add your crop mark.
Now add you crop mark on the four corner like this :

Don't forget to use snapping tool to be snapped on the corner.    Step 3 : Add color bar and name project.   You can add this informations where you want… me, i put it on the top and the bottom Don't forget to name your project.    Step 4 Create or add your creation.  Let's start your creation, or add it… if your creation is already created in another document don't forget your bleed…    Step 5 Export Don't forget to check this case… because i got some problems with AD and font embedded.   thanks for watching !  Crop mark.afdesign
