  1. Thanks
Nick.Design got a reaction from bcowo in Auto-clean Mixer Brush
Four years later and still not implemented. Feels crucial to painting and pointless without it.

That would still show the frame ie; bounding box, which is what I'm thinking the OP is wanting to hide.
I think if Serif would make the Layers, completely invisible wen they're hidden would solve this. Also while they're at it, make a Locked layer completely Locked, not just from transformation, but from editing at all. Both IMHO, are just half-baked. I will add this though, if they did make it so the bounding box is hidden too, and when a locked layer is 100% locked, not editing, nothing, there would be members complaining about why they do this. 😉

On the other hand, I think that the OP might be asking how to avoid having the layer selected, when clicking on it. Especially given that their screenshot showed the one case where a locked layer can be selected by clicking on it.

You can Hide Layers by unchecking the box on the far right side of a Layer in the Layers Panel, or Right-Clicking on a Layer and choosing Hide Layer. There should be a check beside that menu option if the Layer is Hidden.

However even if you select a hidden layer, the box you're referring to will become visible. There's no way I'm aware of to make that bounding box invisible while using the Move Tool.
Side Note: There's no tool-tip for the Hide/Show Layers. I've tested this in both AP and AD. I'm not sure if this is by design or a bug.

    Hi Guys,
To add to the above, another even easier solution is to simply just set the brush to 0% opacity. No need to bother even with the "Auto Load Brush". Seems to behave exactly the same way. Thanks.

    Hi Guys,
For those doing skin retouching, have you guys found your solution? If not, please read on. I might have what you want without having to go crazy pressing the "Clean Brush" button before every stroke.
Just turn on the "Auto Load Brush" button, then set the color you are using to 0% opacity. There, your blender brush is clean and still works pushing the pixels around on your canvas without having to bother with the "Clean Brush" option. Hope this helps.
