  1. Can someone please enlighten me how to turn off this stupid grid please? Yes, maybe I’m the stupid one but I can’t seem to see any obvious option to get rid of it!!
  2. The only app that does what I am writing to complain about is 'Artsudio Pro.' The ability to show the pen curser on the screen you are projecting your canvas to. It's really essential if you are to paint whilst looking at a (preferably larger) screen, otherwise you lose where you are as soon as you lift your pen off. The iPad M2 has had the hover feature for over a year now and Adobe Fresco, Procreate, and to a lesser degree Affinity photo still have not implemented this feature like Artsudio Pro did from the go. Do these companies not have artists testing and using their programs or something!? Is presumably a simple fix but they neglect to implement such a vital feature that would seriously upgrade their programs and make painting on them so much more expansive and not contained to a relatively small iPad sized screen! Any advice whether Affinity are even aware of this issue and are planning on fixing it anytime soon? They are ahead of Procreate and Fresco in that some brush cursors do show up on the mirror screen, not as a circle, which would probably be best, bust as a preview of the brush.. however many brushes seem to faint or something, and thus are not visible at all. Frustrating!
  3. Can anyone help me with what the link symbol means next to some (most) brush categories? I'm organising and creating my own categories but new categories don't have the link symbol.. does it matter? Thanks
  4. Yep, same issue here on Mac in beta 2.1.0, option and command I think it was, doesn't change the brush size whilst dragging the pen 😭
  5. I was thinking this was never going to come. I can say as someone who predominantly uses Affinity programs to draw/paint, the fix of not making the curser around your selected brush, and also the ability to see the name of the brushes at all times, is an absolute god send. On a slightly more negative note, God knows why this wasn't implemented from day 1! It's going to make learning your way around the brushes, and just generally using them day to day.. So much easier. Well done 👏
  6. I’m not bothered now, main thing is they’ve finally done the right thing and seen sense 🙏
  7. Wow, brilliant! I had another email exchange with them complaining about this again just recently, they didn’t tell me anything about an upcoming update.. so glad it is though. For me, it’s really going to propel Affinity to new heights 👏
  8. Anyone know how to resize objects proportionately? Can’t seem to figure out how to on AD V2 on the iPad
  9. I've switched to photoshop now.. never thought I'd even bother trying it but sooo much better because it a) shows brush names, and b) highlights what brush you have selected, changes from blue to a red border around selected brush when you alter the size.. Not hard to implement this in Affinity you'd have thought but I'm all in photoshop now because of this simple thing.. can't see myself going back anytime soon as the autosave is a good plus too..
  10. It really is pathetic they don’t make Affinity photo brush selection user friendly - Feels like a complete neglect for the digital artists who use it 😞
  11. I'm looking for a solution to this too.. Nothing wrong with the magic mouse just need Affinity to program a zoom functionality with it.. that's if it doesn't already exist..!??
  12. Yep - reckon they’ll get there eventually 👍 Hope sooner then later. I’ve just started using Affinity photo on my iPad with a secondary display - works great.. might just do most of my art that way from now on and use the desktop for tweaking things afterwards
  13. I think you need to turn off extend to external monitor or something, from what I’ve read on other posts here. Seems back to front but seems that works
  14. Currently the Affinity brush interaction system forces artists to be a bit random, unless you happen to have some neurological photographical memory. It can be kind of interesting but would like to see an improvement in brush usability for sure ✍️ Basically just keep the blue outline on selected brush always.. I can’t see why anyone would complain if it remained on the brush selected.. I see comments that it is not the same brush anymore if you change the size (or other variables) as besides the point - I mean just changing the size, it’s still the same brush really.. when I work on large scale documents most brushes all look the same small thin line until I increase the size significantly.
  15. Awful was an unfortunate expression sorry. But I stand by that it is inadequate for proper use.. I use a Wacom drawing tablet (without a screen) but would sometimes like to use my iPad as you can’t be as accurate as when you’re drawing directly on a screen. However, practically every brush has weak pressure sensitivity whilst using sidecar.. comparing it side by side with the Wacom, the Wacom can produce nice thick marks and go back to nice thin lines whilst the iPad you have to press really hard to get the thicker lines, but even then it is not possible to produce nearly as think lines/marks as with the Wacom. So it’s all about a pressure sensitivity problem as far as I can tell.. needs recalibrating? Hope that makes sense! Thanks 🙏
