Reducing the number of anchor points while maintaining the original shape of path is really a must, I think so.
Take a look at the perfect example, when I would really like to get rid of the 90% of points.. This is an imported svg sketch of a logo from another app:

I hope you can see now smoothing the curve is neither the problem nor the solution when we have hundreds of unnecessary points. Now I'm lucky because redrawing the path above with pen tool is not a big deal, but I hope it could illustrate the problem.
Thank you in advance, I really looking forward to this feature!

The biggest things I am missing are that if you copy text that has a hyperlink and paste it, the link does not seem to be applied to the duplicate (pasted) text, and pasting in text containing hyperlinks from outside sources does not seem to retain them either.
I have the same problem. It's quite frustrating. If it has solved since then please let me now! Interesting when I duplicate a page with a hyperlink on some of it's element, the links remain on the duplicated page. But if I duplicate (or copy paste) just the textframe or table containing links the hyperlinks are gone... Is there something that I missed?
Thank you!

It's a very basic function that should work properly and effortlessly... It's a must, really. 😢 Resizing doesn't help. Just makes my work harder when designing logos. Please...
