Chills got a reaction from Patrick Connor in Does v1 of the affinity suite have to be uninstalled or does v2 overwrite (split)

Fantastic.
Affinity Photo 2 installed and working. No problems.
The updates are well worth the money. Especially the non destructive raw files and the new hue/luminosity masks.
I'm sure the other added features will come in useful too once I explore them.
Well done and thank you to the team.

@DNH, @Chills & @jaizon
This question has been split from the marketing announcement as that thread has been locked as too many people were asking unrelated questions

Yep, you've bought a Universal Licence, you should expect to be able to install it on any machines you own and use them as you please.

Chills got a reaction from PaoloT in designer to Ai
I am recommending that the Graphics House I am dealing with gets some seats of Affinity in. For them, cost wise, it is a drop in the ocean but it means they will be able to work with people using Affinity as an affordable alternative to Adobe. This is certainly appearing to be the case in the video/photography areas that are not using Adobe's video editors. As Serif will know from their sales this is a growing number.

They are one of the best features in the Affinity apps. Hope it will do what you are looking for.

Chills got a reaction from Dan C in Changing text in AI file in Affinity Designer
I don't think any program can convert from curves to text? Its not just Affinity, CS6 can't do it either.

Chills got a reaction from Wosven in import MS Publisher files to Afinity Publisher.
Many thanks to emmrecs01 but I think on reflection given these files were put together by amateurs and I will need to do a lot of reformatting and cleaning up of style, fonts etc. as well as fixing errors in translation that Wosven mentions I will be better off with the original text files and photos and a fresh Affinity Publisher document.
I am 99.99% certain I can get the images and if the worst comes to the worst they can cut and past the text to a word file. It is only a 65 page document.
I am helping a local history group and it is non-commercial so I am doing it for love not money. This is the problem…. Paid professional work tends to be a lot easier because usually people know what they are doing and use sensible file formats….. OK… sometimes they do J

You are right they they may have lsot the base files. I don't mind them using Word badly.. I can fix that. All I would need is the text and images seperately. In any case the publisher files would need proof reading... they are not as accurate as they could be re spilling and grimmer. 🙂
I agree it is probably better they use something they know. In which case it will have to be Word. I will do the formating in Afinity Publisher.
thans to all for the commments and suggestions.

That sounds like a nice option for Mac users but the OP wrote:

@Chills
Yes this is the best DreamWeaver alternative option and has the possibility to do a *one time payment instead of prescription.
It works on Windows, Mac and Linux.

You may or may not be aware that there was a web design solution in the Serif Plus range (WebPlus). At Affinity's inception, Serif made it very clear that it would be the end of the line in web design software for Serif, and that there would never be anything similar in the Affinity range. Lots of us felt we were left high and dry, but fortunately I don't do much web design any longer. If I did, I'd probably just use one of the online tools.

Hi @jamedia.uk,
We don't have a web development application and we don't have any plans to create one.
It's been many years since i've had to do any web-design, so i can't really recommend any apps for this but i'm sure some of the Forum regulars will be able to

Chills got a reaction from Joachim_L in The Affinity icons are too ugly
There's got to be far more important things to worry about?
I quite like the icons but then I am strange.

I think you've got too much time on your hands.
Bug-squashing and development are both of far higher importance than icon aesthetics.

And I am surprised, that the icons are an annoyance for someone. One advantage of their "ugliness" is, that you won't miss them between all the beautiful ones.
