  1. I would not worry that, Photoshop opens any PDF defaulting transparent background. Even when there actually is no such thing in the file. PS just lets user select how "no object" is interpreted.
  2. Uh oh, I never noticed the black dot... 🕵️‍♂️ [Modified] in title bar is clear, but so is * in Adobe apps.
  3. I would rather have NO columns but call up needed palettes by kbd shortcuts when needed.
  4. Or select image layer you want to crop, drag a selection marquee as you would like to crop and click mask button in the bottom of the layers palette.
  5. I do not think there is any way to deactivate them. If you format your system drive just restore from Timemachine or redownload from Mac App Store. I guess you can reinstall also from Affinity store if you have that version, you should be able to log on to your account and access installer and serial number.
  6. MS Word creates dashes wrong most of the time. Please no automation.
  7. This probably does not help, but Publisher cannot open many image types (TIF, JPG). Confusingly it can open some (PSD, PDF). It can though place them OK.
  8. Affine filter is destructive which is why it behaves like that.
  9. Problem actually is that it is not "a simple toggle". I also assumed there would be a ready made code library available for passthrough PDF. Well, there is not.
  10. "compatible exclusively with Windows operating systems, and is therefore not compatible with Mac OS."
  11. Font licensing is anyway beside the point. Fonts for professional use allow embedding and there is no problem legally or technically – only in Affinity software's inability to use them as passthrough.
  12. I have added forms functionality to PDFs with Adobe Acrobat but it is not really a joy to use. Also, there should be more economic third party apps available like PDFPen, but I have not tried those.
  13. In Publisher it is quite a normal paragraph style feature, also available in Paragraph panel.
  14. Just drag&drop and delete original. But usually apps run faster from internal SSD so it's better keep them in internal. Speed hit may not be too much for you though. But do you not have any other folders, documents or media that could be moved to external?
  15. Why not use Acrobat Reader to add comments and hilites? It is made for that.
  16. In proper EU languages hyphenation should apply also to left align text! Normal hyphenation controls adjust how much hyphenation is applied and of course it is possible set them so that no hyphenation is visible (unless you use words like "suurtehokolmivaihekilowattituntimittari").
  17. I think users who are used to artboards think they are highly practical, and users who design pages think artboards are abysmal. Take your pick...
  18. You have adjustment layers above text layers which rasterizes text when output to PDF. See if fixing that corrects the problem.
  19. Not really / It depends. Digital prefers RGB files more often, but there are both kinds of systems which can use either RGB or CMYK. If system takes CMYK correct profile is needed.
  20. I do not think LR is capable of supplying edited version via drag&drop. I would export TIFFs and import them to Publisher.
  21. Remove the invert adjustment and use simple colour instead. Here adjustment pixelizes whole document (though it should affect only layers below it... )
  22. well well, maybe it works. I just wonder what kind of ink mixture there is at semitransparent areas..? Usually it would be translated to CMYK whole setup.
