Deselected layer should be dark grey, it seems blue in your screen cap marks selected.

 

But I admit behaviour in your system looks not right.

Your memory card should show as mass memory to OSX and mount like any disk. So you should be able to copy/drag&drop images in Finder. (There may be camera models that do not allow mass memory use for their cards, maybe..) So import is not only way to get images to mac.

It is possible that your card is corrupted in which case you would need a recovery app, or your images may be totally lost. (Card should be formatted now and then in camera to keep directory system bugfree.)

[Printing question]

For god's sake, why don't you just hide the un-implemented features and make them available when they are truly working and available!?

 

Umm.. bleed works just fine and I would be really pissed if it were hidden from user. There is just the bleed guide missing. (Though I do not use artboards so things may be more complicated there,, in plain page usage bleeds are working fine.)

Behaviour seems to be that new layer always appears next up the current active layer. So, if you have a layer group and you want new layer on the top of that group, you must not have a layer in that group active but you have to select layer group first -- then new layer appears next up to that group.

I tried stitching NEFs, first working space as Adobe RGB > results 16bit Adobe RGB, then changed space to Profoto, results 16bit Profoto RGB.

I would think panorender uses what ever colour space you have set in preferences. Certainly it is not sRGB only. I have Adobe RGB.

Generally you can use just normal gif/png as favicon.

Work flow is that you work your file in affinity format as this keeps all editable and when you are ready you export it to whatever format is needed by end user.

General opinion is that wacom tablets are very good (though certainly Intuos Pro is better than plain Intuos). Lately some people have claimed that other brands (Huion) have reached high enough quality to be used for graphics art.

There are used wacoms available frequently, just check that model is new enough so that you can get a working driver for it.

Posterize and export to n colour png/gif is available. Not super adjustable but basically does the thing.

Yes. You would want to use Affinity Photo to develop NEF. Designer can open NEF too but there are no tools for RAW adjustment. If you are using very newest Nikon I am not sure its RAW format is yet supported. There should be a supported cameras list somewhere.

I was talking about Affinity Photo (no idea about original poster... :-) where seems not to be real colour picker tool.

Oh yes, there is also Recolour Adjustment layer available which monochromes underlying image.

In export to png or gif you can limit used colours to 16. Of course you have little control about the result. You can also use Posterize Adjustment layer to aim 16 colours but that is not exact science either.

You don't have to save in affinity format before exporting.

You have to drag colour picker from colour panel to image area, not just click image. It (for some reason) does not behave like proper tool. And you have click the little pick colour dot to copy it to main colour. There are probably workflow reasons for these complexities?

Colorizing: first idea would be to make a fill layer with that colour and set blend mode to colour.

[AP: Kbd modifiers for Flood select tool]

It seems there are no standards keyboard modifier keys for Flood selection tool. Please add these.

I know mods are available in context tool bar, but it would be far easier to use mod keys. Especially as AP in separated mode seems to lose context bar and tool bar (which in my opinion even do not belong to maclike interface).

I would like to use Flood selection tool just like a normal magic wand  :rolleyes:

You would need a page layout app. There is not such thing yet in Affinity.

One by one using some variety of heal tool. Of course, if it is not demanding use you could just push noise removal to extreme.

Differences are small. Most users do not bother with any exotic downsampling methods.

I have D600 and use LR for those photos. I export 16-bit tifs from LR and there has not been any problems in further editing them in AP. Roundtrip editing LR>AP>LR should also be possible.

[non-destructive versus destructive editing]

AP is no substitute for Lightroom. I prefer to do cataloguing, developing and managing in LR and use AP only to finetune (or sometimes heavytune) LR exported photos. Sometimes importing AP altered photos back to LR to have them in image database.

[Infinite Canvas in Affinity Designer]

You can already use pasteboard for graphic work (unclip to canvas) and it seems to be quite infinite. Guides work only in page area though.

[AD- export to pdf － keep effects]

Export with "Rasterize unsupported effects" is supposed to be the answer. Unfortunately AD has rather simplistic way of dealing this and it rasterizes everything these effects come close. I really wish AD export could use more vectors and place those pixel rendered parts inside vector shapes like InDesign does.
