  1. I have no trouble seeing PSD thumbnails in open dialog and media browser. OSX Yosemite.
  2. When I export to TIF or PSD file size is about the same as saved from Photoshop. I have no problem here.
  3. In the old days DAM would be just an asset manager, not a raw developing tool.
  4. What kind of layer export you would like? You know AD layer convention is not like one in AI.
  5. Permissions for apps to write files can be a nuisance in OSX.
  6. Also, when you develop file will be higher bit depth. Seems I get now 32-bit files (where is the preference to get 16-bit, that would be plenty enough?).
  7. Shouldn't Photoshop/Knoll be able to open lfp even when association is wrong? That is. when you open from PS using open or import or acquire dialog, not in OS side with open or double click. File type association should not matter then.
  8. Tiffs with clipping paths would be useful too.
  9. It would be up to Adobe to add ability to read preview image from file meta. I think Serif cannot supply solution for this (unless Bridge can read previews from other filetypes and there is something different in Affinity way of storing previews. I don't think that is the case.) Serif has declared they will not grant other developers access to actual image data and that is not a problem if previews can be used instead.
  10. Better correct that configuration problem, it may appear in other forms too. AP should not cause anything like that in itself.
  11. 1. cmd+ and cmd- zoom in and out. Also you can access mag glass pressing space-cmd and space-cmd-option (curiously 1. after using this shortcut you can access tool again just by pressing cmd? and 2. you have to press space first which is different from everything out there) 2. AP is not a database or catalogue. There are no folder routines. (I wonder why people insist using date named folders – OS knows the date, it is in folder meta automatically! I use descriptive names for shoot sessions.) 3. I have no knowledge of raw batch operations, someone else will answer. My advice is: keep using LR as raw converter and database/DAM and use AP as pixel editor. Adobe should supply support for new cameras shortly after they became available, also for standalone version -- until they officially kill standalone version or next standalone version (7) becomes available (which you can upgrade to, of course).
  12. If you need a DAM now you need something else than Affinity DAM. Next year this may be different. (Damn thing about DAMs is that they are difficult to change; after you have your content in one it is hard to export/import to other. Possibly there will be filter to handle migration better in the future.)
  13. I think "blend" means here taking two vector shapes and letting application to generate tween versions. That video was about booleans. I should be coming but not yet available.
  14. I am afraid you have to do crop and scale (Resize document..) in separate steps. There seem not to be a crop to size feature available as in photoshop.
  15. That would be in the perfect world but AP is nonstandard in this regard and uses ctrl-enter. But maybe that is only in mac version.
  16. There are a lot of apps that can read and write .ai. It should not be a big deal, though probably the format documentation is not available. Thing is, that .ai format is usually oldish version not supporting advanced features. I think Serif will not be able to create read and write ability which contains also advanced features, and if you use only basic vector features PDF will do just fine. There are though workflow issues in some production areas I suppose where using .ai as exchange format would simplify things a lot.
  17. That Inkscape feature is fairly advanced. I think there nothing similar in AD (and it would be mighty nice if there were. Maybe when autotrace is included (maybe in v 2.0) same technology can be applied to autofill.) I think most artists are used to workflow where geometrics are drawn considering the fills at the same time. Of course, traditional comix production is different, more like your case.
  18. If the main problem is selecting the keepers, pro shooters often use Photo Mechanic to cull photos, then open the remaining good ones in raw developer. I have heard it is much faster workflow than importing and rating in LR. Me, I tend to do some basic adjustment first and then look which are worth saving... I guess I am not pro enough.
  19. I thought it was just me. Kinda boring to start each image by dragging the window big, zoom in and reposition the image so that half of it is not offscreen.
  20. There are dedicated tools (free, inexpensive and quite expensive) for this so it is not mandatory to use illy. Usually autotrace is separate step that takes its own fiddling so it does not have to happen in same AD application. Of course in some workflows it might ease thing a lot.
