  1. AP can handle images that make PS say "Not enough RAM." Some previews in AP are instant while in PS you have to apply operation first.
  2. There is definitely a logic. Feather applies to selections. But initially quick mask transforms your selection to pixel layer so it is not anymore a selection. If you want to feather the edge you use blur filter. Feather is accessible in quick mask mode if you make a selection, but that is a new selection that applies only to mask, not to original image.
  3. I suppose this is the same old issue about saving dpi value in metadata. AP keeps 72 dpi in meta unless you uncheck "embed metadata".
  4. Would definitely nice to have USM in AD.
  5. To me the file exported to TIFF looks good. I could spot colour variation in said large rectangles where verticals are dimmer than horizontals. I think 1 pixel lines do not snap here perfectly to pixel grid and therefore become contaminated with background colour. There is a snapping control for that somewhere.. I used default bilinear which seemed to work nice. Nearest neighbor may lose antialiasing. If you resample your design to 1080 you will lose a lot of details (1 pixel lines end to something else), you may want to prepare separate document for that.
  6. OK, I customized and there is now an Arrange button in Tool bar, which open aforenamed panel. As I see OK button's most important thing is that it makes panel to go away. That is, I can press enter and it di§sappears as it should.
  7. Seems there is no Align panel in Mac version. I just click Context bar icon or apply menu command and align happens. No panel, no OK button.
  8. I have heard Wondershare software are chinese copies of open source code. You might want to check that. There are several good free video editors available, try them. EDIT: I mean, why pay money for copy software when you can download and use Hitfilm or Resolve for free?
  9. How do you access Alignment panel? I have those controls only in Context Toolbar and as menu commands. Mac version.
  10. I would think U.S. are without tax and european prices are with tax.
  11. I have also searched invisible character that could be used for this. So far no luck. Also, while kern can be used in left justify to alter starting point, it does not work right edge (it would be nice though) (also AD cannot kern text out of frame, which is a problem). I too had to resort also using invisible dot. (Of course space in the end of line is ignored, that is expected behaviour.)
  12. Would be customary to use vector version in print. That design yields itself to that quite easily.
  13. I think there were some development for this kind on apps for iPad but I guess they were not too successful.
  14. It is somewhat unconvential to make separate catalogues of each project. Usually each project has its own folder in master catalogue and it works fine. Just apply suitable keywords to images, preferably in import stage, as it is usually best method to find needed images later on. How migration to ADAM is going to work, that is totally unknown.
  15. Now that is one of the best selling slogans ever: Storyboard is simple enough for designers to understand.
  16. If you use 16-bit files instead of jpeg you should have more latitude for adjustment after stitching. Of course this does not help much if AP really and severely clips highlights.
  17. Basic Character viewer in mac can mostly show glyphs needed. If it is not showing in menu bar item you can activate it in System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources > Show input menu in menu bar
  18. I would: Image size: set bigger dimension to 21 cm, 300 dpi, Lanczos resample After that crop extra Canvas size: 14,8 cm X 21 cm, unlock aspect ratio. That way you can control resample method. Of course if you want to set crop manually you have to adjust this method.
  19. RightFont page says: RightFont 3.3.0 released! 1. Added Affinity Designer/Photo support. What else could this support mean than autoactivation? Normal font activation works for any app regardless if it "supports" or not. It is a system service. RightFont looks mostly nice as I tested it, interface has some rough spots. Seems it copies fonts to its own vault when imported (which is unnecessary, maybe even bad) and has trouble importing many older fonts (even if they are legit OTF). Seems I stay with FontBook for now, limited as it is. Generally at the moment there is no need for me to juggle thousands of font (though there is a folder in my HD containing those), a hundred is enough and can be controlled with FontBook sets.
  20. Usually bitmap content in PDF is JPEG compressed; you have to set compression level to suit your needs.
  21. unfortunately unplugging a monitor does reset positions of the panels quite severely... would be nice if they could be reset to optimal positions with optimal layout with a command. I kinda hate that panels accumulate to the center of the screen several times a day.
