  1. thanks Alfred... was thinking there must be a better, easier way. I'll look into thatπŸ‘
  2. thanks Callum... All sorted, i thing that video was for affinity photo so slightly different, what i did was with the refine box open, i played around with different options, eventually i pressed foreground instead of matte, and it worked...hopefully may be of use to someone else. thanks for your help πŸ˜€πŸ‘
  3. thanks Callum...i did that and that made the document transparent, great for future reference πŸ‘... but what i want is to do is, if you notice the images, originally the background was black iv got rid of that but now its white? it has a box around it, if you notice in the second image after i duplicated the image, when i move the logo's next to each other the box around the top logo obscures the bottom logo... i really want to get rid of that box and just be left with 2 logo's
  4. Hi all... hope you are all keeping warm...πŸ₯΅i have a Guinness round logo with the black background, and i want to make the black transparent. i went through the motions using the pixel persona, and the selection brush, refine etc which removed the black background, but it turned white not transparent? i exported it as a PNG, opened it back up and its still white not transparent? what am i doing wrong? i followed a youtube video to the letter. tony
  5. thanks.... i didnt have the enable snapping switched on in snapping manager whilst in move tool πŸ™„
  6. thankyou everyone all sorted... i managed to separate into 4 equal parts by duplicating rectangles and using Merge & Bitmap as described, the video at the end helped me to nail it. appreciate all the help πŸ‘...... 1 question though when if i move the separated pieces from each other and want to put them back together again im having to reline the parts manually...can i use the snap tool to make things easier, i had to open node tool to highlight snap tools but can only move the nodes independently not the whole part?
  7. Hi everyone.... thanks for all your reply....am new to all this but I think I grasp most of what's been recommended I'll try these later today and let you know how I get/got on. Have a good day πŸ™‚πŸ‘

Hi everyone...... as per title, i simply want to cut a 12" x 12" image into 4 x 6" squares. iv googled and searched youtube but cant find an answer. one video i did watch showed how to slice via the Node Tool....is that the only way or is there a simpler way?. if i were to do it in silhouette studio could i just simply import it? tonyπŸ˜‰
