  1. Hi folks,

Our astro friend and helper, James Ritson, posted a Youtube on the processing of RCW113 with AP2. In it he made use of his macros. I am interested in learning his processing methods and therefore downloaded RCW113 fits files from Telescope Live. They were not identical to the files he used. Mine were only 6 fits files HSO over 1h. I stacked them and following his video went on to the macro, Mono Log Stretch SHO. The result looked the same as that of JR in his video. Then following him I went to the "SHO composition setup". Now the result did not look anything like his result, no color. I wonder why.

I am not new to AP2 and JR macros, having processed about 20 files from TL. In this work I have mainly just used his method of stacking in groups, a composition macro from JR and a stretching macro. Then I have finished off with the adjustment layers and maybe a star reducer macro and an enhance nebular structure macro. Generally I have been quite satisfied with my results.

    Thanks for any help, Irving

  2. Hi folks, Does anyone here have Seestar experience? I do not have a Seestar but would like to know how one goes about processing the files with Affinity Photo 2. I believe stacked fits files are exported from Seestar for each session and possibly also unstacked raw files are available. I have obtained some stacked fits files for various dso objects and processed one of them, NGC-6960, by selecting new astrophotography stack and then loading the single fits file as lights and stacking the single file. Then I have gone to one of the JR stretching macros and carried on with the adjustment layers. Also I used JR macros for star intensity reduction and for red boost. Below is my result. Thanks for any advice,  Irving
