My pen tool does not fill color inside

Mac version: BigSur Version 11.6 AD Version: 1.10.1 I'm not sure what happened. Nothing changed on my settings. I can't color or fill inside a shape using pen tool. It only works on curve pen tool. but on straight, no luck. please help. i grow frustrated just by a simple task
