Hi,
I'm currently creating index pages for a publication. I'm able to index each word manually via find and insert index mark using the short cut keys, but it's taking quite a long time as the index is pretty large. Is it possible to batch index each instance of a word in one go?
Thanks for your help.

Hi and thank you @walt.farrell,
I would generally open and check, prepare and resave the adverts before importing to the publication (make sure the files are print ready).
Placing them as opposed to opening works fine.
Still riding that learning curve from Adobe to Affinity.😀
Thank you

Thank you so much for your advice @Lagarto.
In my case it's a little different as the PDF doc is more of an A4 magazine advert.
So I'm more dealing with text and rasterised images as apposed to vector images. So when I open the PDF in Affinity Photo the images are fine but some times the text will come out corrupted from the original font.
Rather than edit the pdf I just want to flatten the doc as it is and re-save it to use in a .afpub doc.
What I currently do as a work-around is open and flatten the doc in another program and re-open in Affinity Photo.
Would be great to find out why the pdf files are coming in to with corrupted looking text and if there's a way to fix it?
Thanks again

Hi Bruce, thank you so much for the explanation.
Just getting to grips with the work flow.
Turning the baseline grid off did the trick.
One last quick question, is it possible to drag a selection box with the move tool over multiple page elements to select them?
Thanks,
Jeremy

Thanks for the speedy reply Bruce.
My apologies as Im a bit confused? Would it be better to use find and replace or just set up text styles?
In answer to your question it does appear that the content is holding onto Paragraph and Character Styles from the word document.
I did set up a few style for the sections you suggested, my issue at this point is the one with the leading over ride.
So if you see the top header, I'm trying to simply bring the top and bottom text closer and remove the gap.
Thanks

Hi,
My issue started when I manually styled some text and when I copied and pasted content in from a word doc the styles I created vanish?
This is what I would do in Indesign so assumed would be the same for Affininty. This happens for me in Publisher and also Photo.
I found out as a workaround to use text styles but I'm now having issues with the character leading override. When using a text style the leading doesn't seem to change in 1 point increments but jump between around 5 point gaps?
Is there a way to copy paste text in without losing styling? I would prefer this way rather than using text styles.
I'm still quite new to Affinity so thanks you so much for the help.

When I save a layered document in Affinity Photo Designer and Publisher I don't get the extension .afphoto.
At the moment it just saves the file name with no extension.
How do I get it to save the extension?
I'm working on the new m1 mackbook pro.
Thanks
Jeremy
