N A got a reaction from Jolinar in Adjustment Panel Order (split)
Now in Affinity Photo 2, I am in the Photo Persona and want to use Adjustments. However, the tools in the Adjustment panel are in a seemingly random and wacky order that makes no sense. I am not interested in White Balance, HSL, Recolor, or Black & White, but they are all near the top of the list. The very first thing I tried when seeing this panel was to reorder the Adjustments to put the ones I need at the top - but I can't, so have to scroll all the time. It seems strange that I can drag to rearrange the presets within each Adjustment, but you forgot to make it possible to rearrange the Adjustments themselves?
Please can you make it possible to drag the Adjustments into a preferred order? It is little daily teeth-grinders like this that take the sheen off Affinity products.

N A reacted to aistas1 in moving a selection while making it
I want to give up buggy and sluggish Adobe products and I like Affinity products for speed and simplicity but.... So important thing for my workflow like moving selection while making it is missing!
Please, do a miracle, make my and my colleagues dream come true!

The Affinity Photo v2 is out.. moving marquee tool while creating sellection is ... not implemented
This feature has been requested by many people since at least 2016. I don't think we'll see it implemented in 2023.
The inability to move the marquee while making a selection by holding the keyboard spacebar button is beyond annoying.
I'm thinking of skipping V2 altogether and waiting for V3. Hopefully, with the implementation of this feature.

Hi @GarryP, it exists for ages in Photoshop and something very handy. Named "reposition marquee while selecting" within the Photoshop shortcuts list, it works with any marquee tool (except single column and single row) + spacebar-drag. On my side, it brings workflow frictions when I work with Affinity Photo selections compared to Photoshop.

It's 2021 now, 5 years later.. is this still not a feature?

N A reacted to colindun in Disable Anti-Aliasing when creating shapes
nearly three years later - is this available yet? Being able to have shapes without anti-aliasing would be great. The imprecise edges of shape against shape, and shape against photo is really getting me down.

We can customise almost anything in Photo accept the order of adjustments, but that's the area we often use most. I adjust images in a certain order, Levels, Brightness, Shadows etc. In fact I have to waste time scrolling to get to Shadows. If we could arrange these like we can the toolbar it would be a great help to workflow.

N A reacted to UweJelting in No .exe, no interest
I am very disappointed. I expect a software vendor to provide me with an executable .exe file for installation that gives me the choice of the local program folder. This is also the case with most providers. I just don't want to do this cumbersome .msix crap to myself, especially since I don't use MS Store apps and have disabled all Microsoft spy features. If Serif continues down this path, they've definitely lost a customer. And I think I'm not the only one.

N A got a reaction from Seikilos in Affinity Designer for Windows - 1.10.5
Can I suggest you put links to release notes in the download landing page (the page that appears when the software prompts you that there is a new version available)? That landing page contains a nice list of all builds, but no indication about the fixes in each, which is very unhelpful. Even Adobe makes it easier to see what [little] has changed in each new build of their dusty relics; I had to use Google to find this page for Designer!

N A got a reaction from Patrick Gilmour in is Crop to selection possible
Just another poor user here, slowly tearing their hair out as they try to move to Affinity Photo. Let it be clear, I hate Adobe and use Photoshop only because my employer gives it to me. However, I use Crop to Selection every day to quickly trim screenshots (and sometimes make more complex selections), and it is an obvious feature that must be added to Photo for efficient workflow - why else are so many people screaming out for it here? Perhaps what concerns me as much, is that if any Affinity staff read these forums, why have they ignored customers for so long, just like Adobe do?

N A reacted to Fixx in Crop tool feature request - crop to selection smart
As I presented in other thread in Questions area:
I wish crop tool, when activated, would automatically adjust to selection (bounds, if irregular selection). Crop to selection would then be "press C, press Enter". And you would have an option to fine tune crop area if needed. No more this "New from Clipboard" nonsense, no new commands to menu.
If there is no selection then crop tool would work as now, default all area.

N A reacted to Anjux3 in Destructive Crop
I could really use a destructive crop method that can be triggered by shortcuts for processing large numbers of files. I know that many people would say that having a non-destructive crop is better...just not in all circumstances.
Here's the scenario.I am managing a hundreds of photos of students for our school database. The photos are all rapidly taken with lots of extraneous background and very poor centring. They are also just too big in file size and bloat the database if loaded as taken (yes I know, better source photos would be great, taken at a lower resolution...yes we have tried to train the staff)
This was possible in photoshop with a selection and a series of shortcuts:
Rectangular selection (based on a ratio) Crop (user defined key strokes) Image size (Shift-Command I) Save at a lower resolution (Command S and offered at save time) In photoshop I managed about 200 files in about 25 minutes.
This would take hours in Affinity - batch won't work because this would require the same selection to be made each time.
What do you think? I know others miss this too...
As a second best, the ability to click-drag to expand the crop selection (ie expand from centre not at edge or corner) would be very welcome

N A reacted to deelite in Crop image to selection
I very often crop pictures to a selection. For this purpose I always create a selection, copy it and create a "New file from clipboard". This is too cumbersome for me.
From other applications I know a function "Crop image to selection". With this function the whole image is cropped to the selection and all the rest is removed.
I would be very happy if this can be done with Affinity Photo soon.

N A reacted to I just want copy selection in Crop according to selection
Sorry, but how is this still not a function? This is such a basic request, and having seen requests in threads up to six years ago, I wish I could get a refund. The product is that stupid without it. Which of the three in the suite will allow this? None. I can't even get it to copy the selection, it pastes my entire image. Absolutely useless, and the designers should be ashamed. I'm going back to Pixelmator

N A reacted to San Lee in Crop according to selection
Hi Affinity team! In first time, I want to congratulate you for your softwares!
But I have a simple request: I would like the same "crop" as in Photoshop! (Image > Crop) (It's a crop according to selection)
Actually, I don't use Affinity Photo because of this one missing feature!
It's a huge miss I think, as this feature saves a lot of productivity!
I hope you will hear my request!

I can't recommend Affinity Photo to anyone until this is added, sorry. I just bought the software and it's the very first thing I needed to do.
