  1. Very nice! It's very adorable and distinctive. I can see it working as a character in some kids cartoon! It would be nice to see the tail, arms and legs have a more similar orange to the body, which looks very nice and vibrant. :)
  2. Thanks! I put words on it originally, but I wasn't very serious about it and it looked crap. But since you suggested it... I've updated the image with movie poster-y words! :)
  3. Cool stuff! At first the thumbnail looked like a tattoo of some sort. The BG resembles a skin color. That girl vector could be used for so many things! Like a sunset & cocktail scene in LA I imagine.
  4. Very nice! I can't put my finger on it... but the image feels... 3D... like it's popping out from the screen at me? Perhaps its because the line down the middle of the road is sharp, but the sides of the road are blurred? Interesting effect!
  5. An easy way to jump/navigate folders (in mac) is just to drag the folder you want your project saved in, into the Save dialogue box, and the save dialogue box jumps there instantly!
  6. I 2nd Mredig When I resize Image, I always want to use "Bi-Cubic" instead of "Nearest Neighbour". But it always defaults to the 1st option everytime I resize images. Or perhaps allow us to set a default?
  7. This was originally an Affinity Photo test. Particularly the hair masking tool. I was surprisingly pleased with the results. If I had to do this seriously I probably wouldn't use this dancer model. But dancing models tend to make interesting poses which makes for great supernatural compositions. She had reddish hair which I enhanced and it reminded me of Dark Phoenix... so I went with it and made my alternative version of Dark Phoenix from X-Men. This was just for fun (for once). I find Affinity Photo much like Photoshop, only more "fun" to use because of live preview features and slick refined work flow and a tight smooth program operations. Only $50 no subscription was a bonus too. This image was originally 6000px Wide and which made the program struggled a bit more and made the fan in my Macbook Pro 2011 sound like a cyclone! My artwork is also on Behance: https://www.behance.net/gallery/28344101/Dark-Phoenix
  8. Affinity kicks Adobe butt!

  9. Can the shape transform and text transform controls be the same or similar at least? e.g. When selecting a corner point and moving mouse to change the shape/transform size etc: For shapes: Hold shift+cmd, move mouse = For Text: Hold Cmd, move mouse For shapes: Hold shift, move mouse = For Text: Hold nothing, move mouse So when I'm selecting an shape and fixing it, then a text, it gets a bit confusing sometimes. I accidentally use text transform protocol for shape transformation vice versa. It feels disorienting like getting used to working in one program or OS, then trying to do the same thing in another program or OS.
  10. Can the photo program remember the options we choose? e.g. When I resize Image, I always want to use "Bi-Cubic" instead of "Nearest Neighbour". But it always defaults to the 1st option everytime I resize images. Or perhaps allow us to set a default?
  11. Is it possible to have this shortcut/function? I found it more easy to navigate and zoom in and out, rather than cmd/+ cmd/-.
  12. (I've been using Indesign as illustrator and Photoshop for 10 years, and have made many magazine spreads on InDesign and Logos and Illustrations in Illustrator etc.) Forgive my ignorance on the matter but is it possible to combine a vector program and page layout program in one? Or would that bloat the program too much? Perhaps text flow programming is more complicated than it looks and requires an completely new program? I'm guessing Affinity will probably just go ahead and make Affinity.Publisher and ONLY THEN consider other possibilities. It's just that whenever I use inDesign and Illustrator, sometimes I make a quick logo in indesign whilst doing a page layout and needing to transfer it to Illustrator. InDesign just feels like a stripped down vector program sometimes. And illustrator feels like inDesign without the option of adding pages and columns in a text box. image Linking and other features too of course. Illustrator and Indesign just seem practically very similar sometimes. Is there a good reason why they can't be one? If Affinity do combine the 2 in future, I'd gladly pay another $50 or more. Anything beats paying Adobe $1000 every year!... seriously...
