Affinity Photo - how to crop centrally

Hi all,
In other programs I am able to hold the cmd or alt key when dragging a side handle to adjust the size equally on both sides, but not so with Affinity Photo's Crop tool.
This is something I find I need to do regularly. Surely there must be a way to do this?
Please see attached screencast showing Affinity Designer resizing correctly as you would expect. this does not seem to be possible with AP Crop?
