Before Affinity Photo can claim to be anything more than a wannabe, it needs two very basic functions:
- to be able to make clipping paths; and
- image resizing.
by the later I mean to be able to resize an image to a specific resolution to another without (emphasis on without) loss of image quality. For example, I have a 72dpi image and I want to reduce it to 300dpi. To do that in Photoshop, I first chance it’s dpi from 72 to 300, I then reduce its size by 24% and I now have a print ready image at 300dpi that I can use.
The current Affinity hacks do not let me in any way do this. They only result in loss of image quality and also blur it.
until such a time that Affinity Photo do the above, it’s a waste of my money and time and is not in any way a viable commercial alternative to Photoshop.
If I’m wrong, I’d love to be proved wrong.
