  1. I was editing a document in Designer, but needed to use a filter in Photo. I selected "File > Edit in Photo..." to do this. I made a mistake in the workflow, I expected a similar functionality to Photoshop when you finish editing a smart object, in which saving causes the file that contains the smart object to update. This isn't the case with Affinity, so when I opened Designer again and saw that the file was only open in Photo, I went back to photo and closed the document, before attempting to open the photo in Designer again. Designer now says that the file can't be open because it's open in Photo. This error persisted for a while, but eventually resolved itself. Quitting and logging out didn't seem to help, it just seemed to work after I left it alone for a while.
  2. I figured it out, I was applying a posterize effect, which for some reason causes a little bit of antialiasing to occur. In this case, it made out look like nothing had occurred once applied. I’ve included the before, during, and after photos. The antialiasing is a little frustrating, I’m trying to get those crisp edges. Is there a way to disable that?
  3. If you attempt to merge the adjustment layer with the pixel layer it id affecting, the adjustment is discarded. This occurs in the adjustment’s menu and if you attempt to merge the two using the merge layer menu item.
  4. Same issue. Extremely frustrating. I noticed this six months ago. I wanted to give Serif the benefit of the doubt since they’re not charging monthly like Adobe, but this is getting a little absurd. I would think this would be a greater priority considering these are graphic design apps.
  5. Installing fonts with the Affinity suite is extremely frustrating. Whether it’s through the Affinity apps, or through a third party font installer, or through Creative Cloud, it’s almost impossible to get them to work. If they show up at all in the font list, there’s a good chance they will be displayed as generic Chinese characters, and I’ll have to test each one to see what font it actually is. Then the next time the app is open, there’s a good chance the fonts will be gone, even if they show up in the installed fonts in the Affinity settings. It’s been more than six months since this issue appeared, I would think this would be a pretty big priority, but it’s still broken.
  6. Well, the file is larger than the 2GB maximum allowable size. I'm also not sure if there's sensitive information in a dump file. Is there some way to send that to Affinity securely?
  7. It seems like if a document gets too large in Publisher, the program becomes completely unusable. It seems like this is related to preflight or to linked images and fonts, as I was able to at least edit my document after I resolved all of the red preflight errors. Unfortunately, the software began freezing again the next day despite these resolutions. I don't have the fastest computer, but it can still run other process intensive software such as Creative Cloud for the most part without many issues.
  8. You’re both right, it was the transparent background, thanks! I guess I’m still working out the differences between Creative Cloud and Affinity.
  9. I've been trying to get the posterize adjustment layer to well, posterize my image, but it's not working as expected. It mostly posterizes the image, but certain parts still have a smooth transition of color for some reason. The layer is on top of all other layers, and the issue persists using effects or rasterized layers.
