I know I used to be able to change the blend mode of single image before, but for some reason I can't get it to work anymore. I can change the blend mode of an adjustment layer, but not the image itself. Is there a setting I need to change I'm not aware of or is this a new feature in AP? I've attached some screenshots to better explain. Can someone please help me with this?!

I'm having the same problem, but if I change the fill mode it creates more problems since I have a complex shape with overlapping parts. What I can I do to fix this? I want to cut out the shape in the white circle from the main tree shape. Right now this is the result I get when I try subtracting the shape. However, when I change the fill mode (which does let me cut out the shape) this happens to all my branches which I want to avoid. I tried to cut out the shape with the fill mode changed and then change it back to fix the branches, but it was back to the same results as before. Any advice on what to do?
