This is an Incremental Bug-Fix release - it should be considered more stable than the current MAS version (1.4) and should be used in preference to that build, if you are experiencing any of the problems listed below.
 
Fixes
 
- Fixed crashes when loading a document which has been saved in Quick Mask mode.
- Fixed crashes when using documents in the ProPhoto colour space in Mac OS X 10.9.5. - Fixed stroke clipping / invalidation issues. - Fixed crashes when loading documents saved with “Delete Slices” history items. - Fixed weird zombie-open-dialog when starting the app. - Fixed crashes when using calibrated monitor profiles with high-accuracy LUTs. - Fixed layer “Expand” buttons disappearing in Mac OS X 10.8.

This thread was originally about 1.4 updates in December 2015. The team have now also released 1.4.1 updates on Jan 20th 2016, incremental patches to squash some bugs—visit your App Store to update now!

As many of you will know after seeing numerous beta versions over the last few months, our dev team have been working very hard and we're delighted to share the fruit of their labour with everyone! Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo both have new 1.4 updates available now in the Mac App Store, free to existing customers!

So congratulations, everybody … I did a lot of work with the previous GM version this afternoon, and it seemed to be rock-solid … no drop-outs, no crashes … simply great. So thank you very much again for your hard work …   :)

Yeah, you are all awesome working super hard on Affinity Designer (and Photo). Really, really appreciated, totally echo ONSO comments, you are doing this The Right Way, agile releases are badass and very cool to see our comments get into the pipeline and be reflected in the updates so quickly!

We got a couple of spare days we didn't expect to get - so we fixed a few things which can't make anything worse (we hope!)..
 
We're done now though - this build will ship to the App Store!

This is a Release Candidate (and desperate last minute update to the last GM!) build. It is our intention to submit this for review to Apple in the first week of December. Any help you could offer to stabilise and refine the product at this stage will be very gratefully received  :)  We won't be implementing any new features now for this version and we will be focusing on stabilising the product for the immediate future. We will obviously start adding more features again as soon as this update goes live.

Affinity Publisher will be available as a public Beta next year (2016).

Have changed this to an Epub for 1.5 (Updated Dec 7, 2016 with Gold Master Help File)

Just download it to your ipad and pick "open in IBooks"  or download it to your computer and email it to yourself and then pick "open in iBooks" from your iPad.

Its a spectacular resource on an iPad Pro.  If you have an android tablet, go to Google Play and search for "epub reader"
 

Made a template for a cd label.
Just wondered if someone else can use it. So grab this and save you some minutes  ^_^
Simply place your images under the template layer but don't forget to disable the template when exporting!

All credits belong to Affinity team :) It is not 100% copy of original Help in AD. The formatting is slightly different (page layout, bullets, colours, etc.) so don't be confused. The file format is .ibooks. Sorry, I didn't use EPUB or other but I guess every user has iBooks installed :) Sorry if some references / hyperlinks are missing. I use old-fashioned "copy&paste" method to create this file. I've exported this file from iBooks Author to PDF too, but for some reason the hyperlinks don't work. Content aware move is really just selection refinement to new layer, move the layer and then inpaint the original object. Having control at each step increases the quality of the possible result.
 
We still might add a specific content aware move tool but I would like to add tools for things you can't achieve first.

Hey everyone. I've tried to create a Magazine cover with some of Designer's features to see how they stack up with what I'm used to.
 
I've tried a variety of elements to see what can be done. Hope this could help someone.
Various Text Type/Character kerning/Paragraph stuff Gradient Strokes, Fills FX: Glow, Shadow, 3D Pen: Custom Brush style with Pressure profile. Curves: Shape Geometry Add/Fill
