From the "Open" window there should be a "Photos" folder under "Media" that should provide you access to your photos in Apple Photos. Did you try opening from there?

Though I mainly work on the desktop, I have used the Affinity apps some on my 6th gen. iPad with 128GB. It works for me.

As a RAW format, the PEF file will open in the "Develop" persona in Affinity Photo which has various controls. You can then also work on them more in the "Photo" persona and export them to JPEG as noted above.

While for my needs I am able to work with the software I have, I thought I would note as someone who has had Affinity Photo since it came out for the Mac this was one of the first major requests. One thing I think that has been particularly frustrating for users, is that there have been conflicting comments about this being worked on.

It doesn't affect me, though yes I do agree one does need to be aware of these things for those that need them.

People keep saying one should wait until patches, but how true is that in this case as it has been beta tested for awhile. I updated my phone and iPad and haven't had any issues. I am also interested in the question as to Affinity software and Sonoma.

Did you try the search? Entering "saturation" in the Affinity Photo help includes a result for "HSL Adjustment" which is what you can use for making changes to the saturation.

I see now where you are getting that error when copying from Files. Does seem like a bug. If it is for a new image under "Open" there is "Open Document" that will open from Files.

I was able to copy an image from Photos into a new image in Affinity Photo. I did get a prompt asking me to allow me to paste. Are you sure you have a pixel layer selected?

There is a "Haze Removal" filter that might help.

You can see the previews of images in the open dialog box: with "Icons" and "List" select a file and press the space bar or use "Columns" and select an image. In the Finder you can switch to gallery view of a folder that shows previews. There is also other software that will display the previews that you can then open in Affinity software.

There have been longstanding threads about this that go back to when Affinity Photo originally came out. There has been mixed responses from Serif as to whether or not this will happen. Look up forum requests for a DAM or Lightroom equivalent.

The settings I am referring are the ones found here with "Light", "Dark" and "Auto".

What I am referring to is that I have "default os" set, but it doesn't change from light to dark mode like it should when "Auto" is set in the macOS settings: it only shows dark mode.

I do like the v2 upgrade, but wanted to mention an issue that was present in v.1 and remains with the UI. I have the appearance in macOS set to "Auto". This changes the UI from light to dark mode during the day. However with the preference set to "Default OS" in the Affinity programs they stay in dark mode.

Also if you download the programs from the macOS app store or for iPad there is a trial option when you first start the program.

The current v. 1.10 iPad apps for Affinity Designer and Photo are about 1.5Gb in size so you could go with 64Gb, but it would depend on how many files you have. Probably want to wait until they release the new versions to find out about any change there.

The question that many seem to want to know, but only Serif have the answer and are staying mostly silent, though I think it is because they are working on a major update. The iPad version of Publisher is still to come, advertised as coming soon.

A response in another thread that Javascript will be used in the future for scripting.
