I also had this font problem - I found out that if you change the language in the settings from "Standard" to "German" (for me). The doubles (or more) are gone. I tried it under Big Sur and Catalina. P.S. after a while the double fonts appeared again (Big Sur) - unfortunately this was not it either - sorry! translated with DeepL
