Welcome to the Affinity forums @Danny G!

Who told you to rename the PDF? E.g. Adobe Illustrator should open a PDF even without renaming the file extension. Do they need to edit the file? They can place the file Passthrough. Or try to export as EPS or SVG.

Thank you so much for your reply Joachim! Illustrator does open PDF and it does open the Affinity exported PDF, but opens the way i described unfortunately. I will try to export to EPS and SVG to check if it solves my issue... not good if file goes to production and it does not open the way it should, maybe EPS or SVG can be the solution, thanks!

  2.   Hello!!... My name is Danny and i'm a designer from Luxembourg (currently living in Portugal)...
I recently switched to Affinity Designer and Affinity Photo and i am really lovin' it... can't wait to abandon adobe for good!!... However i am having some trouble.
Here's my issue... after i finish my files, i export to PDF (72 dpi) and replace extension from PDF to AI (as i was told to) because the factory i work with uses adobe software. But when i send the file to factory they manage to import it but content is a bit messed up, outline and fill becomes 2 separate objects, some objects lose their configuration (example text, if i write "200" white fill and black outline, it becomes 3 text objects (2, 0 and 0), white and no outline...

So, to anyone who might had already experience this kind of issue, what would you say would be the best way to export an Affinity file to send for production in a factory who uses Illustrator without losing it's configuration (dimensions, colors, outline and fill.......)?

Thanks you so much in advance... best regards,
    Danny
