dantaylr reacted to gotanidea in Modifier Key Customization
To resize or scale an object from its center, we can hold Ctrl key and drag one of the object's corner handles. I want to change the modifier key to Alt, but there is no option to do it.
Please make the modifier keys customizable.

dantaylr got a reaction from Amaroun in How do you make selected objects to have the same width or height?
Is this still the best method?
I believe manually typing in a width or height while transform each is turned on should automatically make all the objects the same width or height based on what was typed. The current behavior doesn't seem nearly as useful.
To circumvent this I am dragging my images into Figma, which does do this. When multiple objects are selected it lists the width, height, and positions as "mixed". Manually typing a value forces all of the selected objects to scale to that value. I would love to see this in AD in the future.

dantaylr got a reaction from xicus in merging anchors (or nodes)
If I could simply delete the point I would but the path isn't approximated correctly after the deletion. Path approximation after deletion beautifully happens when you delete a node in the Glyphs app for Mac.

Yes, I forgot to mention I was referring to the iPad version. Good to know that this is logged.

dantaylr got a reaction from walt.farrell in "Prevent widowed last lines" not working in Publisher
Ah actually what I'm thinking is the classic process of soft-returning the previous word so that at least two words end up on the last line rather than a tracking adjustment. I believe this is a feature that can be turned on in InDesign, as I remember previously using it.

dantaylr reacted to NathanC in Constraints inside group mess up outlines
Hi @dantaylr,
Unlike regular groups, constraints groups will clip content off that exceeds the area of the bounding box which is defined by the nodes. As such, strokes aligned to the outside/centre exceed the bounding box, and causes the area to get clipped. This is logged with the developers to be improved so that objects inside a constraints group can exceed the bounding box, similar to a standard group. I've bumped the existing Improvement with your report.

dantaylr got a reaction from Cooner in Where are Text Styles in Designer for iPad?
I'd just like to say thanks to the team for thoroughly implementing all of this in V2!
I can imagine it would be easy to come up with conspiracy theories that they added these features only to V2 to force you to upgrade, but honestly this is the one and only suite that doesn't take my money via subscription and it's really nice. On top of listening to our angry comments the team has to eat. They've done a wonderful job so far.

dantaylr got a reaction from Old Bruce in Shift + Return doesn't line break using Bluetooth keyboard
It appears any keyboard attached to iPad on iOS 16.3 (I'm on the beta) isn't registering shift+return. However I can do it with the software keyboard in Notes but not in Affinity. Would love to see that in Affinity.
In the meantime I'll report the hardware keyboard issue to Apple.

dantaylr got a reaction from bananayoshimoto in No inside/outside stroke for open paths 😩
Attaching this screenshot from Glyphs Mini for reference. It's used for typographic design (but doesn't have iPad version) and pairs very well with other vector apps using cut and paste.
They have an offset path feature that allows you to specify the percentage for each side of the path. In this case I created the inside of the R by specifying 0%. It would be a game changer to see this as the adjustment for stroke position on lines in Affinity Designer. I haven't seen any other general vector app do this yet. It'd be really cool.

dantaylr got a reaction from bananayoshimoto in No inside/outside stroke for open paths 😩
When I have an open path I can't position the stroke to one side or another. This would be extremely useful for typographical design when my lines are aligned to a specific grid. Example attached.

seems curios to me why this works only
with closed stroke in Affinity Designer
is no Problem in VectorStyler with a open one

dantaylr got a reaction from Paul Mudditt in Strange behavior choosing photos when iPad is at slight angle
Here is a demo of a curves adjustment layer flickering and not previewing changes when the iPad is turned to the slight angle (folio case). In this video I am toggling the angle of the iPad as I try to manipulate the curves. I notice that when it's at the slight angle, the curve changes may preview for a second but will quickly lock up until I close the curve editor, turn the iPad further upright, and then go back.

Walt, didn’t know about the long press, I’ll have to try that. Yes the three finger swipe down is nice. It’s just a tad slower workflow for me compared to previous.

dantaylr got a reaction from vickyy in I would love the 🗑️ button back
I noticed the trash button in the designer iPad interface has been replaced with a deselect button. The only ways appear to be the quick menu or the layer menu, which I would pin to keep it constantly visible. This might be a useful addition to the preferences, right next to the toggle for the visible undo and redo buttons.
