I created a Master Page without any page number field. That resulted in page numbers from the previous Master Page continuing onto the pages managed by the new Master Page.

I don't see a method of creating a Master Page without numbers.
To circumvent the issue I unchecked 'Frame Text' on selected pages for the fields holding page numbers.

While creating an eighty plus page book with facing page set, page numbers work perfectly. When exported to a PDF with facing page set, it works perfectly. When facing page is removed (as required in this case), page numbers appear on pages where they are set to not print.
I have been avoiding upgrading to version 2 as motivation to continue assembling a replacement computer (Windows 11). If this page numbering problem doesn't occur in the upgrade it is motivation enough.
Can anyone help?

When adding a section the only choices are to continue with page numbers or start a new series. How can a section be added with no page numbers after a section with page numbers?

Frankly, at this point there have been so many changes since the original post I am uncertain of the situation at that time. Presently things are going swimmingly. If that changes I'll be back.
