  1. Hi,

I am trying to use the red eye removal tool and following the help instructions. I understand that the result is cumulative but at least with the photos I am using, the first 4-5 instances of the tool barely shows a difference. Repeated use just makes it look muddy and red. Is there anything else I can do here ... other than go back and take a better picture? This is weak. Should I look to recolor the eye instead?

That sounds unusual. Would you be willing to post the image up so we can see why it might not be working well?

  2. However, I'm curious what the difference in using Detail Enhancement for sharpening and some of the other methods like Unsharp Mask, High Pass, Clarity?

I'm also curious to know if there is any difference between Detail Enhancement and Unsharp mask.

So far I have assumed there is no difference since there is no other sharpening panel in the Develop Persona.

Hope the Serif guys can comment on this!

  3. I'm very impressed by the capabilities offered in Affinity Photo, but it's overwhelming when attempting a first piece of work and the excellent video tutorials don't seem to help in this case.

I have a 600dpi jpg scan of an old certificate with a badly faded ink signature. The objective is to put the original certificate in storage and display a new printed copy. Can anybody give me a few hints on how to enhance the signature which has faded from the original black to a very pale sepia?

Attached is a low quality copy of the signature section.

    Many thanks,

    John

    Did you forget the attachment?

  4. Alright with a little more investigation.

If i have the same tiff opened with AP on my primary monitor, and C1 on my secondary monitor, everything is perfect.

    ( primary.png and secondary.png )

But if i have AP on the same screen than C1 ( on the secondary monitor ) the colours in AP are way off...

    ( combined.png )

Could it be that AP ignores the color profile on the secondary screen ?

( both monitors are calibrated )

What happens when you the file with Affinity Photo alone on each monitor in turn?
