  1. Thank you so much. I appreciate you. I hope my questions are fewer and further between!
  2. When I make a file for Design Space for Cricut (SVG) I always have issues where the image does not show up when I upload it (into DS). I need to know what I'm doing wrong when I add images into my design. I have other designs that have the same curves/layers for the images on those files but this one won't work. Thanks for your help!! Prayer Warrior.afdesign
  3. I have had this happen before but not sure how I got it to work. I have a sword that I added to the file. I am trying to get it to work as an SVG in Design Space for Cricut. The first file is with the sword in a layer and the sword is a curve. This will upload to Cricut in the second picture all wonky. The third picture is me changing the sword to a group and then trying that. Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong? THANK YOU!! Jenny
  4. That is exactly what I needed! Thank you so much. I think my problem is I am grouping things not merging curves. Little by little I am getting this! Jenny
  5. It looks perfect (😃) but when I upload it to Cricut Design Space it says it clipping paths are not supported. If you look at this part of the youtube, this is what I want to do.
  6. I had a similar issue with a recent post for what I need help for now. I have a heart shape and want to fill it with a flag. I made a flag with vector shapes (see file below). I tried using 'Paste Inside' to get the flag inside the heart but that didn't work when I uploaded it to Cricut Design Space. I followed a tutorial from a gal I follow on Youtube and her heart was a 'compound' I can't get mine to be a compound (my heart was created with the shape tool). The flag that she copied on to her file showed each layer that were curves (see screenshot below). I made a flag (see file below) and I can't get mine to be curves (per color). Any advice on what I'm doing wrong? Also once I get MY flag file to be curves I need to know how to get it to go inside the heart using the 'subtract' function. I am including all of my files. The one I am trying to get be my final (Land that I Love), the flag screenshot of the person who I was following her tutorial and my flag file I made so I could use my own work to put inside my heart. 7. She will love it! I have the Cricut Maker. They just came out with a new Cricut Maker about a week (?) ago. I say you get it for her.
  8. Thank you so much!! I really do want to learn how to do this stuff so this will definitely help me!!
  9. A few questions: How did you do this. Second- YES it did come in as separate layers. Third- you forgot my bible verse- can you add it in for me? You are the BEST!!!
  10. YES! With the exception that the white stars and whilte stripes should be on its own layer.
  11. When I try to upload it to DS I choose the file then it goes back to the 'upload' window. Nothing happens. I did get it to upload by converting the PNG in Convertio.co and then uploading that SVG. When I uploaded that SVG it comes in grouped. I ungroped it but it was not separated by color/layer (the butterfly specifically) I think the text came in OK. See attached (I moved the grouped things in the butterfly so you can see how it came in).
  12. Unfortunately it still won't upload to Cricut Design Space. =( I give up.
  13. I am guessing that is the problem. Doesn't look like I can convert it to curves though.
  14. Hello Dan and Ron- Thank you for the response. My layers are perfect but when I select all my layers and then try and go to geometry and then to merge curves it isn't available. Also, when I upload the SVG into Cricut nothing happens. Now- I took the PNG exported file into Convertio.co and exported it as a SVG and it uploaded into Cricut but no color on the layers.
  15. Hi I am Jenny, in Scottsdale, AZ. I have two teenage kids and am a teacher (but ready to retire). I just purchased AD today. I have been using the trial version and really liked it. I started a business where I design things to sell so I can have a supplementary income. I need a lot of help since I am fairly new at this. I appreciate any help anyone is willing to offer me. Jenny
  16. I loved how I can go to the pixel persona to work on the layers. Unfortunately it didn't work in Design Space.
  17. That worked in Cricut Design Space!! What did you do to get it to work like that? I would like to know for further reference.
  18. I have Affinity Designer. It is the trial version. I am going to buy the full program today. What I need is the red letters to be on a separate layer (?) so when I import it into Design Space it will cut on it's own layer when you cut the different colors.
  19. Clearly I am a beginner, but basically there is no way to put the red letters on its own layer so it gets split up in Cricut Design Space?
  20. Maybe the problem lies with the fact that when I import it into my Cricut program, it’s called Design Space, it comes in as one image all black and white. I might call that company and see if there’s something different I need to do with the file.
  21. I have a picture of text along with a butterfly with an American flag on the shape of it. I need to get each of the colors on separate layers so when I save it as an SVG it saves in color and separate so people can take each layer and cut them out with a Cricut machine. Is this possible? 22. I uploaded an image from Pixabay and when I save it as an SVG it saves in all black letters. Is there a way to get this (PNG) file to save with separate colors? Thank you. Jenny
