  1. Thanks Dan for your reply. I have now uploaded my .afpub file with slight modifications (I deleted quite a few pages/spreads that I felt wouldn't make a difference to the issue and replaced original text). For my new photobook I have decided to delete all masters that go beyond defining a background and page numbers and that seems to work so far and makes the entire thing a lot more flexible. This might be what I have to do in future. That is what I suspected too. Question is: is there any way to avoid that other than my 'solution' above with avoiding masters for image placement? That is exactly what I meant. I have tried defining masters for single pages not spreads, but with limited success. Even though I cannot quite remember why I didn't stick with that in the end.🥴 I look forward to your comments on my example file.
  2. I am working on photobooks in Publisher (again) and try to reorder/add/delete single pages (not spreads) – and it messes up the entire doc from that page onwards. The original document was set-up with facing page spreads, starting on the right. 1. I tried to delete the first page and start on the left (as that was what a different printer needed), but whichever order I did it (delete page first and change to left-start then or vice versa) all pages I had created that didn't exactly follow a master or did only have a basic master applied (page background) got completely messed up or a master seems to be applied that was never allocated to that page. What is happening?? What am I missing? 2. The second problem is similar. This time I tried to move a single page from one position to a different one in the book and got the following: The left image is a screenshot of 3 spreads before the move, the right one after. Why does this happen? This is sort-of acceptable when it is only affecting one or 2 pages but completely unacceptable when there are 50 more pages following in the document, all with similar issues. 3. Can I define masters for the content of a single page independent of the location of the page (left or right-hand) even though I use spreads/facing pages? 4. Why does Publisher not keep page layouts with its pages when they are moved? Lot's of questions, sorry. If there is a VDO anywhere, where all this is explained, I am more than happy to check that out. I just couldn't find anything that went beyond the basics of page masters and how they are applied. Thanks for your help/advice.
  3. Wow. Thanks a lot for the quick reply. That is a set-back for my workflow. I didn't think this feature is so out-of-the-ordinary that it doesn't work at all. But apparently, I am not the only one thinking that. Anyway, I will follow your advice and do it that way.
  4. Hello, I am fairly new to Affinity and am stuck with something I just cannot find a reason for or solution to. So, I hope for some advice here. I am in the process of creating a photobook with -obviously- lots of images as well as text. I need to have a thin outline around all images and a small drop shadow. So, I created both via layer effects for one image (see screenshots), created a style from the selection, renamed the style and applied it to other pictures. Yet, the results varied with all of them. The percentages (drop shadows) changed and the radius for the outline too. And they change differently form one image to the next. What am I doing wrong? I thought the "scale with object" option should make sure exactly that doesn't happen, but I seem to be wrong again. Can anybody here help me? And while I am at it: why/when should I convert an imported/placed image to a picture frame? I need to flexibly resize and potentially crop images while finalising the pages and cannot have the images in their final version up front. And then I planned to apply the effects to the final version (and that seemed to go completely wrong with just cropped images). Any advice is highly appreciated. Thanks a lot.
