Trying to change a gradient fill and its insanely irritating. I select a vector object, go to the Appearance Panel, click on the fill, change a color and... nothing happens to the shape. If I change the color, that works but I can't change both the color AND the opacity. Any time I try to change the opacity, nothing happens. Screenshots showing the steps and what finally works (although this seems like a real bug, not a feature).

Unfortunately still stuck on this retina mess. I changed to 144 DPI, which then gives me an export size that matches the browser. But now the issue is pixelation. Not understanding why it looks super smooth in Designer, but gets really blurry after export. New screenshot showing the designer file with a print preview on the right. Never had any of these issues before switching to a retina-based screen.

Thanks for the fast reply @BofG . Got totally confused as the screenshot I uploaded is twice the size of how it appears on my screen. Mac retina issue. Needed to adjust DPI to 144 to get the same sizing as what appears in a browser. Figured it out thanks to this...

Really not getting what is wrong here. I have a logo file that is 240 x 70 but in Designer it displays at half the actual size even though I see 100% view at the top. Then when the image is placed in a webpage (which also show 240 x 70 in the browser inspector) it is completely pixelated. In the screenshot you can see how it appears at the actual size (top left is from the mac Preview app) with lower right is in Designer.

Ah, got it! Was not at all obvious. Seems the only place to find this information (designers persona) is on the sales page. (Which I didn't see when I double-checked the sales page... scrolled down too far.) Affinity is mind-blowingly thorough in the apps... but pretty sparse from what I've seen in terms of actual documentation or in-app help.

I specifically bought this app because of the symbols panel, as I want to use it for UX wireframes. But can't find it anywhere and there's nothing about a symbols panel in any documentation I can find. Found some earlier posts about this with no definitive solutions. This has been going on a long time. Finally posting something about it. In the screenshots you can see different views (zooming in and out) where the smooth edges on vector objects are not smooth, with the breaks happening in different places based on where I'm zoomed. Use to be that I could zoom in and out and it would instantly reset (meaning go back to being smooth) but not just now. If I close the file and re-open it the problem goes away. Mac 10.11.6 latest version Affinity
